I'm planning on this one!!!!!
My buddy chris is gonna ride bitch w/ me and my buddy matt (jeep rubicon w / 35's) is also planning on coming.

Can't wait!!!!

Who else is in for this???
Mark?
Shawn?

I'm psyched for this!!!
Gotta devise a way to secure tools and such before then!

I will be there. We all carry enough tools (:wrench:) and stuff to keep you rolling. It is good to have your own and anything specific to your rig. Then your own recovery gear. I know you know this/but just wanted you to know you shouldn't run out and buy stuff we already will have on the run.
Oh ya-if you roll we can winch you rubber down again:lol:.

If tradition holds I'll be the one winching or getting stuck:rolleyes:

Look forward to wheeling again!!

We need to make sure fearless leader goes.
It will be good to see so many club members in FJ40's again.

Get on it!! Start relentlessly harassing him!!!
Might need his expertise too!! :)

I suppose I should do a lil trip report...

We met up in the parking lot of Damonte ranch high school.
By the time we all showed up, someone had noticed that Shawn was missing a bolt on his sag box. After un successfully trying to find a bolt that fit among the group, Shawn drove over to Home Depot to source one. He found one, and also discovered that the threads were cashed in his gear box. So he opted not to run his rig and roll with rusty as passenger. We dropped his rig off in front of my house for the day.
So we set off down the trail...
We were about 3/4 of the way to the trail turn off, and we all stopped to answer the "call of nature". Hopping into the rigs to set off down the trail, rusty TAKES OFF....I turn the key and I get NOTHING!!! (this actually happened last week when calibrating the speedo too, and I thought it was the ign. switch. I replaced it! Apparently, that wasnt the issue.) So Mark, myself and my buddy chris were all milling over what to do. We figured that BBCNN code (keep the rigs behind in sight) would be adhered to by Rusty and Shawn and they would NOTICE that we were NOT behind them and IMMEDIATELY turn around....HALF HOUR LATER...they finally show back up. Rusty had started to get a starter jumper made and shawn started testing the solenoid while I turned the key to see if we could isolate the problem. Mark noticed SMOKE coming from the trans shifter boot!!!!:eek::eek: That is the location of the NSS. So I pulled the boot and we tested the switch out and it was all jacked up. Actually didnt do anything else to it after that and it was fine all day after the boot was off...So off we go!
We make it to the trail head of bronco...
Im trying HARD to get into double low and the 203 keeps popping out. It felt as if the triple stick boot is keeping the shifter from fully engaging. So I pulled that boot off, popped her into low/ low and proceeded to have a GREAT run down the trail. Dan and I bailed out at the first "bail out", but Mark kept going up to the second, which was a bit more tight and technical. He SPANKED it! :steer:
We made it back to where we were almost to pavement, Mark aired up, and Rusty and I decided to stay OFF ROAD back to the high school!

It was a GREAT day and a GREAT first/ test run for Matti and I!

My friend Chris who came along had never been "rock crawling" before, so it was an eye opening experience for him. He had a blast!!!
We may see him with his OWN rig before too long!

That COULD be a TT cover shot!!!
If I had zoomed it in a bit!

I felt a LITTLE little "off" wheeling again, but...It came RIGHT BACK a little into the canyon.
This rig is SOOOOO much easier to wheel. MUCH MUCH lighter and nimble, without that BIG ASS overhang!!
The deeper gears are a NO BRAINER. I still needed to two foot drive with the auto as the 203 is a bit "lurchy" on its own, and the SAG conversion...It is NIGHT and DAY different as compared to the blotch rig PS. I hardly notice the locker up front, the turning is sooo easy.
