I'm sad to report that I need to sell the FJ. I have to move back to a larger truck for work so I'm posting here first for anyone who wants a well cared for and lightly built FJC. I'll list out the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Stats:
2008 FJC 6MT (Full time 4x4 and locking rear diff) 85K awesome miles.
Black Diamond paint professionally detailed last summer.
Mostly blacked out. Wheels powder coated, mirrors painted (pass. is scratched), bezel is black, windows tinted, door handles from Tundra.
Toytec 3" adjustable coilovers in front, Icon in rear with Medium duty springs.
Demello front single hoop bumper with Warn M8000 w/viking line. Acro lights installed with factory Toyota switch in switch bank of center console.
All-Pro Rear bumper (powder coated this summer) with receiver
Custom Sliders by yours truly (they do work and look great too)
Ricochet armor underneath where available. Missing fuel tank and t-case (if I remember correctly) as I have installed a DT y-pipe and Magnaflow exhaust and those wouldn't fit. I have the A-Arm armor but never installed it. Exhaust exits pass. side behind wheel.
AFE intake, Doug Thorley y-pipe and a full Magnaflow exhaust. I'm sure there will be claims of BS but I can get the front tires light without the bumper/winch on the front.
BRAND NEW BFG AT's installed less than a month ago!! Maybe 400 miles on them. 285/75r16. (five tires)
Cobra CB installed in center console, hidden under actually. Bandi mount.
Kenwood DNX6160 Nav/dvd/iPod head unit. Polk Audio speakers in door, Polk Audio small speakers in rear pillars. Have a camera that I haven't hooked up. This setup sounds great and the navigation is top notch. I'm still not sure that I'll leave it in as I have the original head unit still.
Baja roof rack new last year.
MPAC tailgate and driver side panel. I also still have the MPAC straddle for the center console, never installed.
FJC rubber floor mats, and Carpet full set never used including cargo mat.
Miscellaneous recover gear. Tree strap, block, other stuff.
Piaa headlights
Probably forgetting some stuff.
Sales Pitch:
This FJC is fantastic! It is a blast to drive around town with the extra pep of the intake/exhaust and has made it to Moab twice completely unscathed. I have cared for it as best I can. Mobil 1 synthetic and filter from day one every 3k-5k. I know of absolutely no issues at this time. Not a thing needs to be done as I just changed the oil/filted, got new tires, re-aligned and re-lubed. As many will say, and they're right, FJ's turn heads. I get compliments everywhere I go. It is a great rig. In the right hands with more modification it could finish the journey I'd love to take it on but it's also my DD. No chips in original windshield...how, I don't know. I like to believe it's my driving skills. Interior is really in very nice shape. I just replaced the armrest on drivers seat. Undercarriage/frame rust is nearly non-existent, normal at worst. There's loose change under the drivers seat.
The Bad:
Powder coating rusts, period, deal with it. The front bumper, redone in 2010 is showing some minor rust, rails the same. I dinged the pass. mirror. It's a stick. Minimal wear/scratches in cargo area, I'm a tool salesman and it does get used. Honestly, I can't think of what is not good. The powder coating on the wheels is getting scratched up from the weights.
There really aren't any paint chips or scratches that I know of. Overall I'd say that it's in really good shape. A few here have seen it but probably wouldn't remember it as it really is my DD but does make a trek to Ouray and Moab.
I'm asking for $20K and I don't like BS. I'm as honest as I can be so I'd appreciate the same. I will gladly help deliver if I can, but I have two kids and a very busy wife so...
