I have an '06 tundra work truck model. As you may or may not know, we have been getting pounded with some really big snows in WI. My truck is like a pig on ice in these conditions.

2 schools of thought.

1) put sandbags in the bed above the rear axle.
2)Father in law says- don't mess with anything.
what do the masses say.....

Sand bags in the back + quality snow tires always helped me a ton back in my 2wd days.

I'd go with option 3 and 'borrow' the wife's 80. Make her deal with it.

LOL I would but I don't trust her driving my 2wd on crappy roads. I think you are right with the snow tires/sandbags.

500lbs in the back will make a huge difference. You shouldn't have any trouble getting around until yous start pushing snow with the front bumper.

how about cables or chains? not that bad? sounds like excuse for a day off actually:clap:

Only thing you gotta worry about sand bags is if you're in an accident, you don't want 50lb bags flying at the back of your head.

What kind of tires do you have? They will make the biggest difference. Also, your Tundra's a 2WD? I'd definitely get some chains, (like the above poster mentioned). Either get some snow tires or all-terrain tires, like BS Revo's, Toyo A/T's, etc. They've got some good sipings for the ice and snow.
