Just got off the phone with Christo and am super excited. Bought an '06 TLC out of south Texas (talk to Richard Bakke at Elite Imports in San Antonio 210-344-3669 who seems to have a good hook for TLCs and LXs) and am having it delivered to Christo this week. He is installing the following:
-Blueberry bumper- winch has to wait 'til later
-Dual pivot rear bumper w/ tire carrier, ladder carrier and either jerry can holder or rotopax holder swingout.
-tearing out the AHC and replacing with a 2 1/2" OME lift kit including sport comfort shocks etc.
-Wheels and tires after it gets here.
Waiting to order roof racks and other toys until I see how much room I have to get it into the garage.
Later this summer, looking at sliders ( the SO want to keep the stock steps on- no worries, I think they will go away on our first outing), fridge, drawers and lights. I'll have Christo take some before pics and will post with after pics when I get it home.
The idea is to get a very capable vehicle that looks good enough to advertise for Moab Brewery, and at the same time get the SO gradually used to more extreme angles than you find on paved roads( she freaked out going up the Burr Trail switchbacks in the X5). Right now that means dirt roads in the desert with, hopefully, enough washouts and short rough patches to accomplish the latter goal while at the same time making at least a modest use of Christo's work.
Pics and narrative to follow

PS- Anyone in the market for an '02 BMW X5??
