So the short story is that I just bought this 05 LX knowing that the Sunroof was jamming up. The casette motor and internals are all well lubed with no signs of rust or other issues. The drain holes work great and believe it or not, I have no leaks into the cabin even though the trim is fubar.

However, somehow the previous owner managed to catch something on the edge of the plastic trim along the rear of the glass, which pried it up, breaking the glue seal to the glass and bending the plastic. This portion of the plastic trim does not sit tightly against the glass now, and can be easily wiggled up or down. This flex causes it to catch and jam up when attempting to close the sunroof, though it opens fine.

I took the glass off to take some pictures and get advice. I was able to use a heat gun and clamps to reshape the plastic so that it is no longer bent, however getting the 3M trim adhesive into the track of the plastic trim has been problematic. It seems that I would need to pull the old weatherstrip away from the plastic to be able to more effectively pull the plastic off far enough to get a good amount of adhessive into the trim before reattaching the trim with a clamp and letting it sit. I already bought a new weatherstrip before in hopes that it was all I needed (reattaching new weatherstripping doesn't sounds like fun).

Any opinions out there? Will the 3M trim adhesive be able to bond to the glass/plastic to keep it rigid enough for reliable operation? Or do I just order the replacement glass with new trim already installed? Anyone have any luck finding/buying salvage/used sunroof glass with trim/gasket intact?

Thanks in advance for any ideas/advice!
