They advertise (and I assume sell) a fair amount of 100s on eBay/online. The pictures are always very shiny, and depict trucks with decent aftermarket builds. I have no idea as to the actual quality of the trucks (undisclosed issues, service records, etc.), but they pass initial visual appeal.

Newbie to the site here, but I've checked this dealership out a few times. They typically find 1-2 owner vehicles, then deck them out with "expedition" stuff. Good quality for the most part but it comes with an inflated price. At least considering what they get them for and so on. But they have to make a profit. Very clean rigs.

My only concern is the shop they use to do the timing belt and water pump replacement. Out of curiousity, I sent my Land Cruiser through them. Very inexpensive work and you can supply the parts. From the way the shop made it sound, KC didn't use the top of the line belt/water pump, but only basing that off how impressed they were with the Aisen and mitsuboshi kit I supplied. Also want to note that shop replaced one hose clamp with a worm clamp and it started leaking badly as soon as I got it home. That could've ended badly...

Anyways, happy hunting!

Yes, went down to look at a 4runner and they told me it had no rust repeatedly, get down there and ask if I can poke a screwdriver around the underside, they said no, not unless I buy the car. I use a magnet to check for filler instead and the magnet wouldn't stick it probably a quarter of the underside of the car. Then they proceeded to tell me that is how Toyota made them . Most of what they deal with are people out of state who can't be there to see the cars. They also said they did all the modifications in house but when I got there they didn't have a single lift, they buy cars off ebay and craigslist, do some modifications using not the highest quality parts and then slam a gaint markup on them.

HI my name is Mario and my sons and run KingsChariot.com I am a member here but don't post too often. We do our very best to buy vehicles that are only southern and have no rust. All CARFAXS are free and on the site. We do only use top shelf parts for our lifts etc. No one has ever come to our shop with a screwdriver or magnet unless they were a 3rd party inspector. We would never say we do all our work in-house in fact few things are done in house and we use reputable shops to install the parts we buy and the mechanical work that is done. We will never say a car has never been repainted in some form because most of these cars are over 15 years old. We will give our opinion anytime were asked. I can't speculate why he would write that above. We are ARB dealers and do our best to only use their quality parts. We have sold more than a 100 Expedition runners, cruisers, and GX's. We do our best to make sure its a 100% when it leaves and we always encourage a 3rd party inspection. We are happy to address anything we may have missed. If we have an incurable problem its the inability to cut corners to keep up with demand. Yes there have been a couple of unhappy customers but we know there are some who will never be happy and some that have unreasonable expectations of a used vehicle. No matter what you do or how well its been preserved it is still a used truck. We have always tried to work with anyone who has a reasonable complaint. If you ever want to see one of our rigs just give us a call. As far as us over pricing, if it were true they wouldn't sell. We'll do whatever we can to make sure you're happy. We have shipped our vehicles to every state in the Union except Hawaii and have shipped to the Caribbean Islands, Central and South America, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

If you want to see what were willing to sell check out our flickr page of our previous and current vehicles. www.Flickr.com/kingschariot/sets

My $0.02 based on first hand experience.

Having dealt with them, they aren't Mushro VOR type scammers, they are just flippers. They are there to turn a profit on flipping classic and luxury cars for a profit and IMHO, are not always 100% honest with the condition of the vehicles either through the crime of omission or just plain laziness in an effort to turn a quick buck. They get the cars, fix any glaringly obvious mechanical issues, give them a very good detail job, maybe add on some aftermarket accessories, and turn around and sell them at a premium.

When I got mine, I wan initially impressed by the truck, but within the first couple months, I had to put in a new battery, new CV boots, new radiator, new transmission cooler lines with an R&R of the tranny fluid, and I am in the process of replacing the exhaust manifolds that, at least the DS, had an exhaust leak from day 1. When I started to address one of the more serious problems I found on the truck with KC, they were initially very receptive, but eventually they went silent on the net and stopped replying to my emails when it looked like the truck had its issues. I understand the trucks are sold as is, but to try and sell off a truck as having a “fresh build” that had some mechanical problems that were easily identified, then having them just stop replying to my inquires, was just disappointing to say the least.

BLUF, they are not “landcruiser” people and they are not very familiar with the nuances of the trucks, and I guess the same may go for some of their other offerings. Even with not being 100% saavy on Landcruisers, I guarantee they likely knew about the bad battery, and the CV boots, and exhaust leak as they should have been recognized almost immediately by a half way decent mechanic. The other big issue I had was in the vehicle history and was something that they should have checked into before selling the truck. I’m no master mechanic, but most of that was pretty easy to spot and diagnose.

They do a decent job shining them up, they take pictures that show the best of the truck. However, all it takes is a cursory inspection of the truck by somebody who knows what they are looking for and their “premium” pricing suddenly becomes not justified. I understand these are 10, 15, 20 year old trucks at the end of the day and will not be without issues. However, for the “premium” price that they ask for some of them, the expectation should be higher for overall mechanical condition.

I’m not saying not to buy from them, they do have have some decent vehicles for sale but I would treat them with a “buyer beware” label. I would definitely not consider buying anything from them sight unseen like I had. And the fact that they would tell somebody there with cash in hand that they cannot poke around for rust and rot before they buy definitely raises some red flags.:meh:
