01 p0770 code

Got the code a month or so ago. Had fluid flushed and code was gone until towing a vw bus on a trailer home. Code has come up only under towing until yesterday when i happened on flat ground. Decided after reading on other p0770 codes with really no definitive answers , especially those like mine where im not noticing any issues with driving or shifting. Either theres no issues with the code or its a complete failure. Im thinking mine is a torque converter issue, so with 184k i decided to buy a toy reman and having local dealer install. I contacted Ruben on here and he was extremely helpful.i would have made a trip down and had his dealership do the deal but my local is matching the price as well as the 3 yr / 50k warranty. My build date is 01/01.

I'll update this if after the new trans is installed for some sad reason i get the code again.. that is after i freak out lol... then maybe it would be down to a sensor....

Here are the possible issues. If I had less than 100k, i;d explore these other options, but since its just under 200K i felt money wise it's best to replace it.

• Defective Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid
• Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
• Defective Torque Converter Clutch
• Defective Valve Body
• Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages

New reman trans installed. Feels good.

Heres a question ive thought about, and to lazy to look in my owners manual.
When towing do you leave the od engaged or od off? Ive always left it on but im wondering
if its something that should be off when towing?
Well i since did a search and found threads on the 80 series. Does the manual for the 100 suggest no od for downhill braking benefits like the 80 does? seems there are many opinions on this.

Update. The od off helps with downhill speed reduction if you towing , other than that its no difference.
