Sorry, I've been working quite a bit, but I was close to doing a visio diagram of the wiring as I found it. I have an '00 model, and i just replaced everything but the amp. My next step will be to remove the amp, and replace wiring to the head unit and speakers.

Here's gonna be the challenge: Plan on replacing ALL of the wiring. You could not do this, but I think it's a limiting factor in the effort and I don't think the stock stuff is safe. The wiring is trash to be quite honest, and i wouldn't assume you can replace the equipment and leave the wiring intact. It defeats the purpose of the upgrade. So plan on removing every bit of it. Here's was my original approach to replacing the sound system 1) replaced the head unit 2) replaced the front and 2nd row stock speakers 3)replaced the subwoofers. That's NOT a great approach, and I can say that because of the challenge issue noted above, it would have been less invasive and expensive to have at LEAST broken it into two steps.

1) replace head unit and upgrade power wiring to head unit to 8 gauge.
2) replace all speakers, subs, tweeters, while upgrading sound deadening and carpet in the process.(See my Need Subwoofer thread)

That would save some labor cost and you could do the wiring as part of Step2.

What would you like to accomplish first? I completely understand the need to do this piecemeal, but I would break it into modules because of the need to replace wiring. Those connectors into the stock amplifier are expensive to reproduce, the more I looked at them, the more I realized I'd be better off not trying to replace ANY stock connector, but rather to plan in new equipment that would make the wiring easier.

My final step is to add a 5 channel amp that replaces the factory and just upgrade the last of the wiring, that will allow me to not have to worry about the wiring diagram, but just to route out the new wires to a new amplifier.

So i guess my question is, what are you trying to replace?

I already replaced the head unit and all speakers. Just trying to replace the amp now. Just trying to make sense of all the wires.

Your previous configuration included two subwoofers, correct? What amp are you planning on installing, may i ask?

I think if you're assuming you can simply replace the amp and leave the wiring intact, I would try and talk you out of it. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but I think the factory wiring is risky. I couldn't tell what grade it was, but it didn't give me the same confidence as using the 16 gauge I replaced it with. Any respectable amp is going to pump more through the wires than the factory amp, if the wiring isn't quality stuff, you could create some safety issues. Feel free to confirm what I'm saying with a speaker tech, some told me that I could keep my wiring, some told me it wasn't safe. I err on the side of caution. And the stock wiring looked iffy.

While that means more effort, removing carpet and trim pieces isn't that bad and it will completely eliminate the need for understanding a wiring diagram AND the need to replicate or alter the plastic connections that feed into the factory sub.

I would grab a spool of 16 gauge wiring, your new amp and just start as if the old never existed. Re-wire completely. You can wire directly into the new amp knowing you have the right connection and mistakes will be easier to diagnose and fix.

Yeah, you'll need to lift the rear carpet and door panels, but it isn't that bad. It might even safe you time if you just remove the passenger seat, carpet and door panels and just drop in a new amp and start wiring from start to finish.
