Just thinkin out loud.. anyone ever see a 100 series IFS converted to a solid axle? I know some non usa were factory solid.
I was wondering after seeing all the parts on that Drex Luggi site where they lifted the 100 ifs with a zillion bolt on parts. Could it be done ..
Any links or info where someone has sas'd a 100 with a 80 solid or any axle for that matter. I tried Slees site for any info but could not get the site to work.
PS i searched this site as well. Any links appreciated.

You could simply take everything off an FZJ80 and swap it in.... just look at all the swaps on mini trucks.

I think the IFS on there could be moddified to give a nice lift and extreme travel - easy 16"+. Long upper and lower A-arms would be the hot ticket IMO though, not drop brackets. Longer tie rods and axle shafts would be required. The CV joints are huge, and both inner and outer can take some seroious angles... and I suspect would deal with a locker better than the 80 series stuff can. Just some food for thought.

Look here on Brian's EXCELLENT webpage, this may give you some ideas...

its prolly doable, the frame of the IFS 100 is different on the front that a 80........so it won't just bolt on.

ya know someday not long from now someone will do it.........
Be the 1st to try :D

[glow=black,2,2] Just thinking out loud , but what about swapping out an 80 into the 100 . Keep the factory roof rack off the 100 , but swap in everything else !! Ought to solve the problem .... :p :flipoff2:[/glow]
