Hi all, there is a well documented fuel tank phenomenon, where a hairline fracture appears along a certain position on the top of the tank. Based on what I have read, it is a design flaw.
After reading a bunch of the threads, people do not recommend welding (there is some term for the type of...
Ok, so after the infamous NJ fuel spill that took 4 days to control, I pulled the leaky fuel tank.
Since the original tank had an actual hole in the side, I got another used tank but in good usable condition. While the sender was out, I hooked it up and moved the arm/float as if it were full...
Team,
I have a 2003 Lexus truck that has a fume problem. Gas fumes are present all the time but are especially bad when you fill the tank to capacity. Very little fumes in the cabin, only outside.
Any ideas / suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? Wife wants to throw the damn thing away…...
I have searched all over the interwebs for this but am struggling to put it together and find the part numbers I need.
So I have an Australian 1995 1FZJ80 GXL with a Japanese compliance plate that came with a factory sub-tank, somewhere in its life like a lot of them it was converted to gas...

Fellas weak wrencher here, had my 77 for 26 years. Finally had to replace gas tank. Opted for the poly, after starting her up, my fuel filter under the hood was dripping gas on exhaust! Did I mix up the return line? Thx
I have owned this rig for about a year. This weekend was the first time I filled the gas tank completely. I walked out this morning to a rather large puddle and an awful smell of gas. I opened the door and was basically knocked over by the smell. One of the PO covered the entire rig with two...
2003 LC w/ 210k miles - fuel tank is leaking at the seams. Looks like OEM replacement is ~$800. What else should I replace while in there?
Fuel pump? $325
Fuel sender gauge assembly? $175
Fuel Tank Lock Ring? $17
Fuel pump tank seal? $15
Fuel Tank Mount Straps? $165
What else am I missing?
I’ve neglected to replace my OEM muffler for a while now and I regretted. While removing the old one I discovered why my locker hasn’t been working. These homes were also boiling the fuel in the fuel tank.
Just an FYI
2004 LX. Leaking fuel from the seam, new (used) tank is on the way. I looked through the Factory Service Manual, the SFI section has some info but not a procedure to drop it. Mostly just curious on how to unplug the hoses/tubes/wires. Do I need to go in from above to disconnect the fuel pump...
I've got an NIB fj60 fuel tank. Bought it 2019 or 2020, never opened it, was convinced I had tank problems, but it was just a rusty sender when I figured it out all.
I had heard that fuel tanks were going away, so I got one from a local dealer. At the time I had to call around to find one that...

Hello Toughmudders,
This is my first post on the forum. I drive a 75 series 1HZ, 1990, the 4.2L. Based on NSW, Australia.
My rear tank has been leaking so I got a new(ish) one from a shop and they said it would just fit. However, when I took my tank down I realised there 4 extra hoses that I...
Does anyone with one of the early LRA auxiliary tanks have trouble filling the main tank? Anything much faster than a trickle backs up.
What I've already done:
blew out lines, confirmed no obstruction
replaced breather filter
added strap to prevent kinking in fill hose below the metal, upper...

Hi all,
I just purchased a 1999 HZJ75 with an 140L auxiliary tank. I just don't understand how it works and seek some help.
The seller told me that there is a transfer pump with which I can transfer fuel from the 140L auxiliary tank to the 90L main tank. The switch sits under the dash and I...
