I checked the FAQ section and tried to search, but did not come up with anything so far on 200 series speaker replacements.
My 2008 Land Cruiser has a blown speaker in the front passenger door. Basically the foam surround has disintegrated over the years.
Since I was going to replace the...
Needed some help. I replaced all door speakers and wanted to replace the rear sun with a 2way 6 1/2 speaker like the one i put in the front doors. The truck came with a double din and i believe the factory amps are still hooked up. I installed one of the other speaker to try out the sub out put...

I got a Tuffy console with the radio slot for my 40 about 3 years ago because I didn't want to cut up my dash to mount a modern single DIN stereo, and since I run with the top off all summer I didn't want it to get wet or stolen. I got a new stereo about 2 years ago for Christmas, but never...
Bought a set of JBL GT608C 2ohm mid-woofer & tweeter combo; comes with component cross over.
How much is speaker performance hindered if I don"t utilize the included cross over? Goal was to keep it quick & simple to just replace the blown woofer, use existing wiring, factory tweeter etc..
I'm looking at doing a speaker upgrade on my 06. My question is does anyone run a 2 channel speaker up front and a 3 channel in the rear? How does it sound? I was going to go with 2ohm 6.5" speakers but was wondering if the 3 channel coaxil set up for the rear would be the best option.
thx.
I spent last weekend installing JBL Stage 602 speakers in all four doors, actually my wife did a lot of the work since I am in a sling from a little shoulder repair :). These are direct fit speakers with a couple catches along the way. We had to drill holes to mount the speakers and saw off a...
Hey all,
Just want to share my latest project on the Land Cruiser. I wanted to replace the rotten/warped MDF panels in the cargo area (I have gaping holes in my quarter panels so they'be been exposed to quite a bit of snow and rain). Also, many of the plastic pieces that attach them had broken...
Decided I wanted to try designing a customizable speaker cover for my 80. Here's what I've got so far. Have a few more things to tweak and adjust the alignment as well as finish the design on the little clippy things that hold it to the door panel, but i think i'm getting pretty close to 3d...
I noticed that all the stock speaker wiring is part of a larger loom, making it difficult to remove and replace.
When you guys run new speaker wire, do you just run it in parallel to the existing harness and leave the old wiring still in place? I'm currently looking at just the rear passenger...
I pulled out the factory speaker box and sub from my '99 to make room for circuit blocks, etc...
Not really sure what a fair price would be but lets just start at $100 and see where that goes
$100
I'm looking to upgrade the sound system in my Cruiser (92 FJ80) and I need to figure out my options for a subwoofer. I really don't know much about subwoofers and how they work or how much room they need, etc. to sound real good, but so far, I've figured out a few options.
Put 2 8" shallow...
I'm always on ih8mud late at night when not many others are on, so I don't know how much attention this is going to get but I think it'd be cool to make a thread where 80 series owners could share their upgraded audio system, so I'm making it! Here is the information you need to include:
Head...
After following a dozen threads on replacing the stock HU on my 1997 LC, I took the plunge this week. I dropped a Kenwood DX373 head unit and replaced the rear speakers with the infamous pioneers everyone raves about on the forum. I'm going to do the front speakers once I find my courage to rip...
Hey guys, so I have a seriously blown front door speaker that makes listening to gravel shaken in a tin can sound better than my stereo. I have the JBL system in my 2006 LC and I really want to replace the speaker myself, but I'm not extremely knowledgeable about this stuff.
I've read some...
I bought this tan rear speaker grill from a fellow Mud member for my LC, but it appears the LX's use a different grill it won't fit my rig. It's in great shape. $25 + $8 USPS CONUS shipping.
Let's see if electronic heads can help identify this weird issue i'm having. this started happening a few days ago, after a long drive over dirt roads (ie. rattled the hell out of the car):
On wet and snow days, even before driving the car, with headlights ON, there is a pretty loud constant...
