Sup guys...I really need some info ASAP. I have an 81 BJ44 in Japan. I am on vacation in the states right now and I am trying hard to find some new rims. I went to an off-road specialist with all the info I new about what I needed (6 lug 5.5, 3.5in backspacing, 15X8). Since my rig is not in there system this is turning into a pain in the A$$. They say they need my hub diameter and I have no clue what that is????? Could somebody please lend some info I could give to them..... and also inform me if is there some better specs I could run with. This is time sensitive because I am heading back to JP in a couple weeks. Thanks a bunch!

You got the right info there. Use a let's say, a 1980 FJ 40 for reference while in the US for this situation.

Plenty of good wheels over here that you can get for a really good price if you are willing to be patient and have a look around.

Good Luck,

Randy

Personally I would make this the time to get out of the 15 inch tires. And switch to 16.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=43439&highlight=bj44 See the thread for part numbers from Toyota.

Picture was stolen from crushers post :)

I bought the same rims for my BJ60. Like em a lot.

yeah, and if those factory wheels don't float your boat, Greg from G&S has a bunch of part #'s for the Unique Wheels in 16 ". I don't remember his handle here, though I think it may be GregB or something like that. Just do a search for wheels. There was a thread recently that I saw re: wheels.

I also second the vote for 16 inchers.

15' in tires are generally much cheaper and have a much larger selection. If the rims you like don't fit they will fit with spacers, just make sure the are 6 lug. Like Pactoy said order rims for an FJ-40 1980 or above with disc brakes and you will have no problem.
