Just throwing it out there for all you wise men of the 60:

I have an 84 60 with stock springs (somewhat saggy). I put 1 1/2" SOR shackles on it and some Rancho 5000's. I would really like the ride height to be about 1 1/2-2" higher. What are your opinions about installing add a leafs (long ones) from man-a-fre to get that extra lift.

All comments welcome.

Thanks in advance.

The long add-a-leaf from MAF is great. The ride is pretty stiff at low speeds. But, it gave me 2"+ of lift and works great on the trail. For the money, it is a great way to liven up saggy springs. Mine were just about flat before the install.

They also made enough room for my 33 x 10.5 BFG muds...

I used 'em on my 55, they're OK, it helped quite a bit. I had to cut an inch or so off the fronts though, that was fun. You won't have that issue.

I just put new bushings in all around so I think I'm ok there. I will need the longer U-bolts though. What is entailed in installing these add a leafs.....do you just add this to the bottom of your existing spring pack and bolt it back together? Do you need to drill a hole, etc......?

Same here. I'm sitting about I'd say 1" higher than factory new springs, but about 3" higher than before. I'm still running the stock 28" tires until they're worn down (getting close) and then I'll go ahead and order new wider 15" rims and a set of 31" tires. The long Add-A-Leafs are the way to go. The popular consensus is don't even bother with the short ones (which I almost did until 2badfjs posted his writeup on installing the long ones).

Fit the additional leaf between the two leaves that are respectively longer and shorter. Spring pin hole should line up fine. Might need a longer spring pin. Mine were rusted, so maybe count on replacement.
