I used 3/8" aluminum stock. cut to about 6 inch lengths. I bent it in a curve. I flared one end to hold the rubber stopper and large area washers and I tapered and drilled the other end and hold it in place with a large clip. $8.00 total and about 1 hour time.

Thats a door stop not a regulator. When I first saw the post I wondered how it was possible for someone to make a door regulator, had me on that one.
The door stop turned out well, great idea!
