For any of you who are in the process of rebuilding an H55F or thinking about it... here are some pictures from my re-build (under way).

It seems like rather poor engineering to require that the t-case needs to be cracked open to remove it from the transmission, but alas, it does. The teardown stalled at this point as the gear pullers we were using weren't long enough nor did they have pointy enough fingers to grab the bearings on either side of the gearbox. There are snap-rings that are pulled and then the puller is supposed to grab the groove where the rings had been seated. It's a rather narrow groove... I'll take more pictures as it progresses.

Couple questions...

Is that unit from OZ or CA?

Is that input shaft for a B motor?

When I rebuilt mine I had to have a couple shafts hard chrome plated.

The needle bearing had woren groves so deep, that half the diameter of the needle bearing was hidden from view as the bearing was buried into the shaft

that's a 3B input shaft. the 2H or 2F is 6 coarse splines.

edit: doh, 10, not 6.
