Hey, I have a 95 and have a question about my factory lockers. The guy who had it before me never used them cause he didnt know what they were. Now when I turn them on i dont feel anything change. I heard the fluid needs to be changed in them every couple years. How do I know if they're working?

First you need to confirm you actualy have locking axles by locating the dial to the left of the steering column. And if you have reason to distrust the PO, locate the actuators on the diffs.

There are many threads here on this. But you need to think of activating the lockers as a 3 step process.

First - shift into low.
Second - turn the switch
Third - slowly drive the truck forward in an arch, or wide circle. You need to do this on a loose surface.

What needs to happen here is the teeth on the dog collar attached to the axle need to mate with the teeth on the diff. To do this you need to create a differenial between the diff and the dog collar on the axle, hence the arch.

Good luck
