Andries and I slapped in Mark's OME suspension on Sat to test out at Hollister. We wanted to see if finger-tight bolts would hold ;P

The logs were too hard. Dug deep for Tough Truck and the logs were wet w/ tar so very slippery.

Enjoyed the pics. Looks like a blast!

Great pics James!!!

I didn't have enough material to make a proper video. I also didn't take any pics so I hope more will get posted.

Anyhow here is the video I did "quick and dirty"
It is almost 10min long and 67MB, so save and then play as some players might have a problem showing the whole video directly.
Enjoy!!

I haven't owned a NEW vehicle in 20 years, but now after seeing what some FJs are already going through, used doesn't sound very appealing!

Very nice pics, thanks for sharing.

James-Looks like fun. Did anyone bend a rear control arm in the log pit? I remember that two of us did several years ago, and that prompted us to get the high strength rear arms.

You should tell those FJC boys to stay out of mud that deep. Remember weh8mud here. Mud is evil.

THat ambulance Mog, or what ever it is, was parked at Buck Island Lake last year on Rubicon. I don't know if he made it all the way through, but it is a cool and unique vehicle.

Just me and Jay tried the Frame Twister. No bent control arms (didn't check Jay's truck but I think he was fine too). HD arms are a good idea tho, I can see the rub marks.
The logs had tar painted on them and It was just too deep, you would go over and hi-center on the sliders and spin. No traction on the logs so no dice... it was fun tho.

Mud was crazy huh? I saw that one FJC try for the mudpit and was like, "Huh?!" Luckily he immediately got stuck so it was easy to strap him out. No one else went in. I'm sure he will hate mud too! It was DEEP and he was in the shallow end! hehe

Yeah that mog was very cool. It's really narrow and tall so it was pretty scary seeing it go up Truck Hill, but he made it.

so is the concensus that those new FJs are pretty capable rigs right off the showroom floor? i imagine those in the pics were bone stock? look pretty impressive though i have a hard time imagining them being all that capable but the pics seem to prove otherwise!

one love
jah bill

ya outta check the photos at http://gallery.ih8mud.com - the FJC pics form GSMTR were of the FJCTT with their stock FJC's, nothing more than a tire swap and the addition of the winch/bumper.....

awesome pics of Hollister!!! too bad that's like a 2000 mile drive for me....each way...lol
