Opinion given it is a DD:
Save $400 per wheel and put toward a small lift. Your wheels are forged aluminum - hard to beat.
Get a 2-2.5" heavy lift for your stuff. Buy it as a set - see the thread...
At those price points, rust is the major issue. Hard to mess with rust. If rust-free or light surface rust, that is a good deal. It is not locked, so be aware that is a big value upgrade.
You kinda need to decide if you are happy with the lift or not and then address the DS. If you down to 4" you may hear different things or see the problem go away, etc.

Yes - it is a LOT less now that the front drive shaft is removed, but similar . .just further back :) Assuming its the drive shaft and it simply needs grease. Thoughts?
I'm still getting the scratchy noise, so I am going to remove the rear drive shaft (once I get the new front one put on) and clean and re-grease it, too.
