I guess I should have added that today it didn't start after sitting all night and it turned over, just wouldn't catch. I was thinking fuel related or something until I started searching.
Was the first time I've had the problem of turning over and not starting with the '91. I replaced the...
between this thread and another I was able to get my 91 running with a minimal amount of time on the vehicle :)
got a new efi/main relay from Napa and it started right up.
I have a question though, especially as I'm going to be going to Minnesota shortly
Is the relay for sure the bad part...
I don't have any experience with other mt's, just the truxxus mt's and in pure ice, going over 35mph the landcruiser started sliding slightly side to side. Other cars were passing us and we turned around (didn't need to go where we were going that bad). At 35 and under they seemed fine.
I...
fastest way to ruin it would be to go on a drinking binge with mickeyrubicon and his neighbor and leave your 80 unattended with him and his sawzall for a while.:D
well, I'm changing the color to a metallic blue, so from what I had read it seemed best to strip it to metal. the repair must have either been done a while ago or not painted great, since the clear coat was failing on the hood and roof when we bought it. we (naively) thought it was original...
:o I started sanding the 80 to paint a couple weeks ago, figured I would do it first before I had to do any rust repair to it, since the paint kept getting worse, especially on top.
so, the hood was repainted-unless toyota used grey primer, base, beige primer, then base:rolleyes: , also the...
We bought the 80 because:
I totalled our 93 4runner trying to go elk hunting.
the 40 was not driveable at the time (bought it to be a DD:rolleyes: )
2 adults and a child seat do not fit comfortably in a nissan hardbody pickup with 5 speed
as much as I liked our 4runner (especially...
just buy the rolling chassis 55 in the for sale section and put your 80's drive train in it.:)
I would'nt rule out 100 series, pretty nice trucks.
FJC, sawzsall, and some thick clear vinyl and ducktape and the kids window solution is solved;)
right in Sheridan :) so pretty near
maybe with 19K it came with "extras"? ;p
i've seen some high listings, don't know if they get what they want, but they usually aren't listed for long. don't think ive seen one at the local stealer longer than a month or two at most. least not the 80...
saw an 83 in the paper for $3k today :D
was a 97 and 00 in the paper not long ago, no price though on the 97, think they were looking for 22 or so for the 00.
last year there was a 91 in a lot for 7k, not sure what they got for it but it eventually left.
if you can get it for 4500...
well, I had to order some today (due to bad planning on my part, and someone wanting to buy my truck (finally) so I need to get the 80 back on the road.
unfortunately that was before knowing I could get brembo from napa, I asked about options at the local one and was told there was only one...
anyone?
I have read that you can upgrade with bigger rotor, calipers, etc. but I'm looking for a bolt on solution at the moment.
looking like either oem or napa.
how about brembo? is that likely what napa sells?
am in the need of rotors, and have been reading many threads about aftermarket rotors vs. stock, etc. seems as though dba is considered to be an upgrade over stock by a few people on here. dba is not offered as far as I can find for a 91-92 :frown:
so, anyone found a rotor you'd consider...
there's no muffler on my 91, it sounds nice, after a while though it'd be nice to hear the radio and people talking, etc. :)
it's not that loud, but it is always noticeable.
going to be having to do something with the exhaust soon, and when the time comes pretty sure a muffler's going...
