@Delta VS , have you been looking into an alternative for the Dometic cooler for the flat center plate? I've been checking for other options, but have yet to find something that is narrow enough to fit without modding the ebrake handle.
Yes.
Picked the LX up today, no more noise. Once I get it home (I'm currently 2 some hours south of home for the night) I'll recheck the flange angles to make sure everything is correct.
My drive shaft phases are correct. The rear shaft is the original, and it is going on 320000 miles. It was most likely due for u joints anyways. The u joints get greased with every oil change.
My shop replaced the u joints in my rear shaft. I'll be picking it up tomorrow so I'll know then if it is truly fixed.
I assume that since I wasn't able to park on a flat enough surface when I was inspecting the drive line that I was not able to take enough pressure off the rear shaft to...
The sound wasn't a u joint grind sound. I have a Landtank front DC shaft, and it is within a degree or two of perfect. I've also run without a front shaft before (I had a custom shaft before the Landtank one), and yes, I have a CDL button.
My stance is 1" different front to back. I have no...
Thanks. I was afraid of something like this. I didn't have enough tools or space to pull the front shaft where I was so I dropped it off at the shop. I'll report back with what they find.
'96 with 3" Dobinsons coils, Delta arms, rear adjustable uppers, DC front shaft, 35's.
I've had the suspension dialed in now for several years, but now I'm getting a noise upon deceleration. The noise starts like a heat shield rattle, but turns into a banging as I slow down. The banging is like...
Mine were in worse shape when I took them out. I switched over to a non slider seal when I installed my flip up windows. The frames are not worth trying to rehab. They are not very strong, and will only get worse with time.
I'd also assume that with the amount of corrosion on the frame, that...
@bonestock, the only think I'd keep in mind is that the light on the top of the unit tells you if it is working or not. You may want to mount it in a way that lets you check on the light.
Since mine is in the driver side panel, I can open the jack door, and see the light reflecting off the...
Some numbers for you. I put 3" coils on my 80. They were Dobinson linear coils +220 pounds of load (C59-170 and C59-185, front and rear). They netted me 24" up front and 25" out back when measured from hub center to wheel well (no flares on mine). I could 37's if I wanted too.
The best path...
There is a lot involved when you go to a 6" lift. a 3" or 4" (as was suggested) is a lot easier to get right. The more lift you add the harder it will be to get it to drive well without throwing money at it. Also, you will probably have clearance issues between the caster plates and your stock...
