I'm also running Harrops front and rear in my 80, while using the factory locker switch. Made for a super clean install. I've had no issues with them engaging.
Zuk at Gear Installs did my setup and I upgraded gears to 4:88's at that time. Best upgrade I've done on the 80. My truck was unlocked...
The pads and the high performance rotors are from Terrain Tamer in Australia, their US importer is Cruiser Brothers. Cruiser Brothers
The re-gear and harrop install was $350 per third. As you can see from the link, he is very detailed and knows his stuff. I had the parts shipped to him direct...
I love the fact that I don't have to deal with a compressor on my 80. Next week I'll install the factory OEM locker switch. Clean install, no need for three more toggle switches.
I know what you mean about brakes, the 80 series and near misses. I just installed a set of Terrain Tamer HP rotors and brake pads. They definitely out perform OEM, I'm happy. Replaced the break booster and master cylinder a few months ago. I haven't touched the calipers yet.
A major milestone in the life of my 80. I installed my new third members, replaced the birfs, rebuilt knuckles, installed high performance rotors and brake pads.
Thirds were upgraded with Harrop eLockers and 4:88 Sierra Gears. Brakes, birfs and knuckle kit were Terrain Tamer.
Thanks to...
It's the VR10000 with synthetic rope. No mods, bolted right in. The solenoid box was relocated to the center of the winch with the bracket from slee. I wanted to use the 10k Warn Zeon off my FJ40 but I would have had to mod the truck/bumper so I opted for the VR series. Now I need to get my...
Last week Luke said my bumper came back from the powder coaters. I thought it would have shipped this week. I can't get ahold of anyone via phone or email, been trying all week. I've been patient so far but I sure hope it ships soon. I am trying to finish my truck for an upcoming trip.
I am upgrading to Depo's and currently have the Slee harness that I've had for a couple years now. I've done some research and have decided not to get the harness from Susquehanna (rallylights.com) I'm going to use the Slee harness since I already have it and will add the innovative harness to...
We had to replace the heater core in mine a while back and ended up with an extra connector while putting the dash back in. Turned out to be an extra connector that was used in non US trucks for something. They used the same harness so the connector was unused.
I had the same issue as this. No leaks either. I went ahead and replaced both booster and master cylinder with OEM parts. Also added the braided stainless steel brake lines from Slee. It's stopping good now. At least as good as a built 80 can stop.
I am wanting to see a Slee Shortbus in person before I make a decison on my front bumper. Does anyone in North or Central Texas have one I could check out.
I'll be at the Lone Star Land Cruiser Round Up in March if anyone with that bumper is coming in from out of town.
Thanks.
