Yeah turns out i got the front caliper bolts instead of the stubby rears. Rear part number is 90101-12167.
What got this going is an old thread on here where dudes were having their rear calipers loosen up on them. Mine got loose and a couple people suggested one time use.... which i dont...
Im running a 97 80 series rear axle in my 40 and noiced the rear caliper bolts were loose last week. Did some reading and some say theyre one time use so i ordered a new set, part number 90101-12144. The bolts i got are twice as long as the old bolts and will not work. Did i order wrong or use...
Woah just popped in to the 80 section to ask a stupid question and clicked on the cool grille post on my way out.
While it does look good imop, if you were half assed creative and or handy you could make one thats similar for 20 bucks worth of steel and the price of a light bar. I noticed he...
Im throwin a 97 80 series rear axle under my 69 fj40 and have a couple questions regarding brake lines.
I have the axle all stripped of the 80 bracketry, and have leaf pearches, shock mounts, ladder bar mount and a truss fighting for room on it now. I dont want to run the hard lines behind the...
Im not spending any money on that pos. I already have a built 60 to wheel and am in the process of putting together a 40 series frankenvancruiser. I bought the dodge thinking it would be the "best" replacement for the 80. Lockers winch sfa..... Its the first domestic ive ever owned and it may...
If you want to run 37s all that is needed is a 2.5 inch lift and a little bumper massage. Save the three and four link bs for down the road (its already four linked in the rear btw). Take a bolt out of the ds radius arm on the axle end and theres your front three link. Al these things need to...
The problem is, in my experience, that there arent many women who will understand. If you have one that does youre a lucky mofo. I just basically lost a good one (not a wife, Im not that stupid) because of my LC addiction which she couldnt wrap her mind around. I also used the "I could be goin...
I left sixty land and ventured over to fourty land lol. Still have the sixty but the eighty is sold. More pics of the bumper build are buried in my "93 80 Beater" thread.
Honestly who the hell cares who copies who and who had what first. If you don't want ppl making similar bumpers and whatnot...
Looks very similar to the one I threw together for my old 80. Honestly, I wouldnt be all bummed out that it isnt available, just copy it and make/get someone to make one for you.... Its not rocket calculus man.

A month after buying my 93 fzj I took it on a 6600km road trip to Cape Breton island in Nova Scotia. Worst thing that happened was the ds window messed up a bit and I had to help it up after lowering it.... In retrospect I should have done way more pm but hey, we made it there and back and had a...
I heard a rumor up here a while back, dont drive the sixty in the winter so I cant confirm or deny. Condensation in the air lines (cold hot cold hot) will accumulate at a low point and freeze over night rendering the lockers useless till the line thaws... Never seen it happen though.

Being someone who switched from a 93 fzj80 with 280xxx miles on it to an 06 power vag (kinda similar to a rubi) with 160xxxkm on it Id take the 80 any day. It all comes down to the build quality. So far Ive owned the vag for less than a year and the things that have come up are as follows (some...
Yup, can you imagine trying to lift a 300 lb skid slider combo? Youd need at least 2 ppl and 4 jacks lol. Sliders w a removeable cat skid and seperate trans/xfer skid seems to be the most popular way to armour up. Just decide if the sliders are gonna be bolt on or weld on and give er s***.
D
Ok, just askin.... My 80 sliders were welded to the frame and didnt hang below it at all so Im not getting why your sliders would hang lower than the frame. Also, all of those crossers are gonna make for nice places to hang up unless you plan on running a skid over them. In the end youd just end...
