Check the wires by the egr. If the clamp that holds the harness in place next to the valve cover is missing or broke the harness may be shorting to ground on the egr . A similar problem happened to me and it was the grounding of the harness

Recheck your fusible link and pay close attention to the one with the gray connector. Pull on it near the battery . Mine just went in the middle of a hill climb .The insulation was cracked where it hangs off the battery and the wire looked corroded .
Go with the metal tech i had them on mine for 2 years now even with the wisconsin winters there is no rust or peeling of the powder coat and there tough .Saved the body of mine a couple of times already.
Did you do a tire rotate ? I had uneven wear on the tires and when i rotated them i would get a vibration that would mimic a driveline vibration .I chased it for a month until i rotated the tires back and the vibration went away . Just a thought .
