I finally have my '71 tailgate window regulator, motor, switches, and wiring all repaired and functional however I have one last problem. The plastic striker that pushes the safety switch button in when you close the tailgate is broken. Does anyone know of a source for this or just have a...
I have a set of floor mats that I believe fit under the seats of a 1979-83 FJ40. Could somebody look at these pictures and tell me exactly what they are and what they fit.
Thanks
I'm getting ready to pull my transmission to change clutch on '83 FJ40. Question is where abouts is the balance point on transmission to set my transmission jack under? Looks to me like it is right behind the cross member/transmission mount.
Thanks,

Pilot bearing removal
The grease trick also works great for frozen wheel cylinders. Just find a grease zerk fitting that screws in where the fluid line was. Make sure your bleeder screw is closed. Pump grease into the zerk fitting and the pistons will pop right out.

I'm getting ready to change the clutch on my 1983 BJ42. I figure most of the setup is the same as FJ40, so I'm posting this question here. Haynes manual calls for removing the fuel tank to drop the transmission/transfer case. Is that correct?:bang:

Anyone have an L200 duct that I could borrow for a couple weeks to measure from and try to copy? I'm willing to give you a hefty deposit to guarantee it's safe return.
Thanks,
Ted

Looking for one of these L200 heater ducts to use behind the A/C unit on late model FJ40. They are shaped different than duct on non air-conditioned vehicle. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. If not for sale, but you have one that I could copy that would work also.
Thanks,
Ted
Johnny,
Those Toyota part numbers are correct. The listing that says "white" is actually the black center cap for the "white" wheel. Apparently the rears are no longer available from Toyota and one would have to purchase the black caps (42603-60053) for the FJ60.

FJ40 Tachometer
Here is a picture of a 2-1/8 inch Autometer tach that I installed in my 1979 FJ40. Simple to install and much nicer looking than something hanging from your steering column!
