I’m most likely taking it back with me. I guess I’m not sure if the pros outweigh the cons but it’s my dream rig and would be very hard to get rid of it. 8 years ago when we decided to move here, we sold everything so we’ll be starting from scratch again. Just second guessing myself really.
Thanks guys. I’ve always been leaning towards bringing it with me, just torn on how practical it would be. And I knows everyone s***s on CA cruisers, but this has been taken care of. I’m only the fourth owner and have the original bill of sale when it was bought in ‘79 for $2,000. 🤘
I’m looking for advice on whether or not it would be worth the time and money to import my 40 (original b engine) to the US from Central America where I have been for the last eight years. I have owned it about three years now and have put a few thousand into upgrades. Disc brakes, dobinson sus...
Would like some opinions on the LEDs mounted to my roof rack. I’m not sure I’m not the biggest fan of them, but they have been very useful for me driving in the mountains here at night. They’re just the cheap Amazon lights and are now starting to slowly die. Should I mount some nice Hella lights...
After installing a brand new Dobinsons suspension, this thing still had a nasty drivers side lean. About 2”. Today I went ahead and added a leaf. All good now finally.
At the time, I was having a tough time finding a RH snorkel. Reached out to Safari and couldn’t find one, also wasn’t going to make a custom one. but researched a bit and installing on the left worked for others. Just need to be a little careful how to run the hose across to the other side- no...
Finally got around to installing a 2.5” Dobinsons kit. Rides really nice and smooth now compared to before - I’d recommend. Went ahead with the disc conversion as well while I was at it. No more drums!! We’re riding pretty now boys. Saludes from Honduras!
Bottom line it comes down to what you’re preference is. You'll get persuaded from both ways but if you haven’t yet, you really need to drive one first. They’re slow, have a rough ride, and bad on gas, but fun as hell to drive. I also agree with what others say about leaving it in public parking...
Been doing a good amount of searching as far as suspension kits are concerned. As you can see the PO shackled this bad boy up big time. It’s okay for now, but the ride isn’t great. This is a mountain/trail rig.. also not a daily. So I want to stay within budget but also upgrade the ride. I was...
Made some tweaks to the 40 last weekend. Finally got around to installing some light brackets and lights on my roof rack. Also moved the LEDs from the windshield hinge to the rack as well. Just ordered two more should look nice once mounted. For now it’s just smaller stuff, I’m hoping to get...
