I dusted off the hard top components. I have been driving my rig without ever having properly restored the hard top. I had the tub acid dipped here in Arlington, TX several years ago during the frame-off. I called Metal Rehab (the place I got the tub dipped), and they are out of business! I...
Same here. I bought a Red Top back around 2007, and it is just now showing signs of weakening. And I fear it is due mostly to less frequent usage of the truck.
Finally got the Warn 8274 all redone and put back together. Still have to do the solenoid pack and wire her up. I think I may have gone too silver on the finish though. Was hoping for a darker pewter looking color. Any recommendations on synthetic line?

RockTactics,
Looks like some really nice welding skills. I do have a question for you though. Do you have plans to stiffen up the frame on the forward and aft ends where the frame consists of a tubular cross section? I am wondering if you are not going to have some bending stress...
I used the OEM dual diaphram booster rebuilt by Dewey. I had a new master cylinder. I took the 5lb residual valve out of the master cylinder that is internal, and then put the in-line 2lb residual in series just before the proportioning valve. From there, the line leaves the proportioning...
PC vs. paint vs. Galv
I really think that there is not one right answer. I really think it depends on what you plan on doing with the vehicle. I think both can be patched up when it comes to that, and al will last in proportion to the effort/money invested.
Like others have mentioned...
What is your radiator setup? I have a Mark's coupled with an aluminum Champion radiator. I'll have to look the hose PNs up, but I ended up going to Oreilly's with a hanger bent in the shape I needed. Found a best fit and so far so good.

Hope these help. Here are a couple that show the distance of the SBC on my rig from the firewall during my retrofit to EFI. Keep in mind that I am using a Mark's 4WD Adapter setup from AA. With that setup, it utilizes the OEM Toyota bellhousing and OEM aft mounts. It basically fills the gap...
What About?
Not to get off track here, but I have read this whole thread, and one recurring theme that I keep seeing is that these policies that get quoted are not covering any off-road usage at all. How can that be? I mean, for instance, if you went down to the Ford house today, and bought a...
X2. Much better engagement. And to elaborate a bit, when going to Low mode using a twin stick, the motions of both sticks are fore/aft only, no more shifting the stick towards the passenger. For me, this was beneficial becasue I have a SB350 transplant with a Marks Adapter. The drivetrain...
Finally finally got the heater installed. Also added a couple of LED lights to the dash that are switched so I can see at night if need be.
I have to work on making some small adjustments to the transmission hump cover for the twin sticks. Slight clearance issues. Don't know how I plan...
New flywheel
New clutch disc
New T/O bearing
New pilot bearing
New parking brake cable
New transmission fluid
New transfer case fluid
Hung the heater on the firewall
Installed the blower motor
Adjusted the bends on the twin sticks to clear the heater
I need to adjust the cutout periphery for...
I just reinstalled everything. Looked more carefully, yes the holes are blind! Doh!
Cleaned them out. Cleaned the bolts with brake cleaner, new lock washers, and blue loctite. I'll monitor it.
Thanks for everyone's help.
