Thanks, I like the land rover jump seat option.
I was curious if anyone had tried seats with integrated shoulder belts.
(My searches came up empty.)

Hello,
I am searching for a backseat option for my 82 BJ42. I need a spot for kiddo #2 but would like to keep one side open for gear (so no full-width bench seat).
I am considering a seat like this out of a yukon. I like that it has an integrated shoulder belt.
Anyone try something like...
My new-to-me BJ42 arrived with holes in the cab. (Covered with handy duct tape.) A little researched showed that the holes are for cab decompression vents that are no longer available from Toyota.
Let's see what is under that tape. Hmmmm, a big rectangular hole and two threaded holes for...
Wow manhartg, that is persistence! I gave up after 2 weeks of working at it every night and just chopped off the top hinge. I plan on welding on a bullet/barrel style hinge with a grease fitting.
So after a few hours of working at it I decided to just yank the carrier. I turned it upside down and noticed that the pin is welded to the hinge.
(This the underside of the top hinge. )
I guess I need to grind off the weld to make any progress, at least the bottom hinge swings freely.

Thanks everyone, I am trying PB Plaster I had from getting lug nuts off. Just spraying and tapping it with a rubber mallet every few hours. I think the plastic bushings are missing so that doesn't help. Will keep you posted on my progress.

Hello,
I have a new to me '82 BJ42. The spare tire swing-arm is stuck. I can unlatch it just fine but then it just doesn't budge. It will not swing out or lift up at all. Is there some trick I should try before I unbolt it from the tub?
