Not very busy today, got a custom license plate from customjapaneseplates.com and a license plate holder from CCOT. Will match the custom license plate I will have on the rear. BTW The kanji is supposed to be Toyoda.
Based on what I have read here on this fine forum, the general consensus seems to be to use the Bilstein 5100 shocks. With a Pro Comp 2 1/2 lift, the Pro Comp shocks seem to be quite rigid. Where can I find the correct Bilstein shocks?
FST models came with drop down tailgate, the holder for the rear bows, special door hinges, loops and threaded holes for those loops and of course the Vader light (which might have been on hardtop models but I'm not for sure). If you have those things then you just might have a FST FJ40...
Your build blog is a hoot. I loved all the pants soiling comments and the comments about those on MUD who seem to be able to criticize anything and everything was spot on. MUD does have some excellent advisors and those with tons of experience and it is those people you should listen to. You...
Several of those are already produced here in the USA by ReefMonkey. He is a supporting vendor on MUD, lives in NC and is a member of the Olde North State Cruisers. He doesn't produce everything and can supply quickly. Check him out. Look up @JAMES here on MUD.
Bought an ARB air locker from East Coast Gear in Raleigh, NC. Had to go with ARB over Harrop because the ARB would allow the clips to be installed and the Harrop would not. The only complaint I have is the installer did not check his air connections for leaks and everything he did leaks...
Is the plastic fan less of a drag on the engine? I know it is less dangerous to the radiator. What other advantages does the plastic fan have over the metal fan?
Reefmonkey also has that. And he is a member here and in the Olde North State Cruisers and his web site has a host of other related Land Cruiser items. Please support him. www.reefmonkey.com @jamesurq Good guy, terrific quality and a great selection.
@65swb45 My 40 is a 3/70 model which I put a hard top from a 74 on. Since there is a difference in weatherstripping is there a difference in the heights of a windshield from the 70 to the 74? Asking because my top seems to be sitting a little higher at the windshield.
I like the Pro Comp. The ride is okay, the 40 isn't a Cadillac and I expected a rougher ride with the lift, the parts were complete, I purchased shackles from a different source and everything fit like it should. I purchased through 4 Wheel Parts when they had a big sale going on and saved a...
I'm sure you hear a lot of things. Just heard something I haven't heard before, a friend was told his frame had "flattened". Is this a real condition or just a dodge?
