Thank you! Do you have a picture of where the hard lines meet at the T?
Everything was stripped off my frame and it is an earlier year (all drums) than the axles so I'm not sure if I have the holes for the "T" in the right location...
Much appreciated
Can someone please post a pic of their working dash mounted FJ40 e-brake, particularly up where the parking brake cable attaches to the e-brake and the pin with the spring that mounts to the firewall.
TIA
Trying to put together the fj40, finally managed to gather parts strewn across garage for last 15 years, some literally hanging from the rafters...
For the steering column, the ignition switch in the picture looks like it should fit into the cylindrical opening but doesn't -- what am I missing...
Can someone please post pics of the fuel lines as they are mounted to the frame for a 1974 FJ40, including showing the how the fuel lines enter the tub from underneath in back as well as the engine compartment where they connect with fuel filter.
TIA
I'm trying to reassemble my 74 fuel system after 20 years in a new aluminum tub and this and the linked posts have been very helpful. Can someone please post some pics of what the hard lines look like for a 1974 mounted on the frame and down below entering the tub from below and entering the...
Aaah, so the front line doesn't connect to a t-fitting like the rear line -- the soft jumper just connects directly to the hardline at that bracket?
Thanks
I'm trying to reassemble the front brake lines on my 9/73 FJ40 after too many years of it resting in pieces scattered throughout the garage.
I have the soft brake line jumper that goes from the axle to the frame, as well as the hard line, but I'm unclear as to what connects them.
Looking...
So when you say 3/4" is just about right, you mean 3/4" from the top edge of the frame down to the top edge of the hole for the wiper arm?
I was planning on drilling and tapping holes for mounting the actual motor to the frame. Hadn't given thought to the mirror yet, but I should also be...
Cool, I appreciate all the information. Do you have that measurement from the bottom of the frame edge to the bolt hole -- might as well try to use that if you think that is a good indicator of how far up the wipers should be.
Thanks,
I went to measure out the holes on my windshield frame today and my interpretation of your measurements didn't seem to come out right...hope you can help me through this senior moment I'm having :o
The wiper arm bolts are approximately 20" apart and once I have the position for one it should...
If someone could take a couple of pics of how the fuel lines are mounted (ex running from tank and evap to engine bay and across the underside to come up through that grommet in the middle) on the underside of a 9/73 FJ40 it would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.
If anyone can provide pictures with some measurements on the positioning of the windshield wiper arms and motor on the top of the windshield frame applicable for a 9/73 production date FJ40, it would be appreciated.
Specifically, where are the mounting holes (ex. measurement in from side...
MoCoNative, what you describe in terms of the horn mounting location actually sounds like it might be right - I have two horns, each of which has a metal strip attached to it (one with a hole, the other appears to be broken off - so I will need to drill a hole through the shorter metal strip)...
I meant an under-hood type latch (not the ones on the side).
That is the diagram I was looking at regarding the latch. It would make sense I suppose, since I can't find mounting holes, that a 9/73 doesn't have them.
Although its somewhat amazing (to me at least) that the mounting holes...
