Had a friend pull it up and send me screen shots. Looks like I may buy this and then an Aeromotive pump
Thanks both of you. I think I may actually have all the info to gather the parts and get this together soon.
Options are always good, and mamma likes it when i save money.... Have to look at it when i get home, Government does not like employees perusing ebay on their computers, silly government.
Great information, thank you! I have aftermarket seats and mounting already that puts the driver and passenger up a wee bit higher so I do not believe clearance will be an issue. What PSI are you getting out of your current setup?
Phantom 340 Stealth Fuel System – Aeromotive, Inc
We do end up with a few weeks of "heat up here hahaha. Looking into the aeromotive stealth pump now. Do you have any pics of how you did the install on your factory tank? Thanks for the post.
I am close to finishing the swap of a 2001 5.3 LM7 into my FJ40. I have decided to keep the stock fuel tank under the passenger seat ( 3 linking the rear made the S10 blazer tank not an option) For those doing similar swaps what specifically are you running and why? Pumps, Lines, connectors...
JB Fab cable shifters going in. Had to make my own brackets for the 86 Split case. I trimmed and cleaned it up a bit since the pic, its been painted and installed. Tub goes back on this weekend
The axle side is almost complete. Figuring bump stops and limiting straps. Considering putting the bump stop on the frame and having it limit the link up travel. Not sure that will force droop on the other side though like I want. For edification the links are 1/4 inch wall, plenty strong. Frame...
This is how it sits now. I pulled the tub off to make the T-Case X-member, route the exhaust, fab in the new S-10 blazer fuel tank, and do the drive shafts.
FJ60 steering box is in and done. The FJ60 tilt steering column is in. I cut off the mounting ears on it and left enough to keep the spring retainers for the tilt mechanism.
I am ecstatic about where the wheel sits at full up tilt with the seat all the way back. In the future I will fab up a...
Extended the FJ60 steering shaft using 3/4 solid stock and 3/4 ID tubing to sleeve the connections. Then used a 3 1/2 ID 1/8 wall pipe section to notch the ford shock tower.
3/4 inch spacer plate installed. Need to extend and sleeve the steering shaft about 9 inches. Had to remove the F250 shock mount due to the gear box and shaft interference. I can either notch it and change the angle off the frame or get super cool and use a 3 1/4 inner diameter tube to make a...
Right now it is just held in there by factory 71 Fj40 strap and two bolts. I will be getting into this more tonight and this weekend. Mocked up like it is sitting in the seat it comfortable for me at almost 6' 2" and 240#. I am also using an FJ80 steering wheel. It already looks like I will have...
