How much do you have into your rig so far?

It depends what you want to do with it and what you expect. A stock FJ60 isn't known for power or hill climbing at posted road speeds. 135Hp pulling 5000lb wagon + gear = Slow 3rd gear hill climbing unless you've re-geared the 3rd members. if you plan on loading a stock Fj60 with tools or...

    Master cylinder failure and UPGRADE

As advised, this is indeed not an improvement. I'll be switching back to a stock Master cylinder. Thanks to all who spoke up. If there IS a valid upgrade please let me know what that looks like. JackRabbit, How would it matter if running more power? brakes function the same regardless of the...

pennies to tighten worn tie rod ends?

I managed to get some adjustment out of the plug on the drag link. Seems to have helped with increasing tightness though we've had snow covered roads this week so kind of hard to gauge a difference. I managed to get enough adjustment out of the plug. Dialed it in till it stopped and backed it...

pennies to tighten worn tie rod ends?

A mechanic told me some time ago that you can use pennies to tighten up worn tie rod ends. I've been wondering bout this as temporary fix until the kit shows. Has anyone tried this?

    New audio set up

re Can't say that I hear a major difference. Base notes are omni directional with a long sound wave so theoretically it shouldn't make a huge difference but I'm no audio expert. I an going to remove the cover today for a comparison so I;ll have to get back to ya for a final conclusion.

    New audio set up

re Thanks. Serves dual purpose, protects the sub from gear and hopefully keeps thieves from being interested. For now, I'm gunna leave it as is but I may carpet it later when the side panels are a little more beat up.

    New audio set up

re I don't recall the volume numbers. You could run one in each side. I personally cant imagine needing anything more than the single 10" as I have it turned way down. The single 10" BiAmped Polk hits very hard.

    New audio set up

valid point. This may not work for people with large wide feet. You can't tell in the photo but I have about 5 inches of clearance from the edge of my shoes and probably 3inches with sorrels if I were to guess. I also have the panels kicked out a few degrees. A more flush mounting would gain you...

    New audio set up

Thanks. I'll see what I can do on the sub box. I've had the mid woofer in the door and the tweeter up high in the door panel and found that the woofer got muffled and the highs were never well balanced. Having them in the kick panel allows for much greater imaging. Post your results

I'll check Kurts kit out for sure. What do you mean about "A springs" ? My other concern is if the steel used for the Malaysia made springs is the same or as good as the Aussy built equivalent IE will they last as long. Thanks for all the feedback guys
