You can use the same exact bearings and hubs. They are fully interchangable. Note that the IFS hub 'clutch' will have a different spline count and cannot be used on the landcuiser. The hub outer housings and dial are the same. The red color of the hub dial helps indicate it's IFS spline count...

I swapped my A440F years ago and the light stayed on. I was lazy and never looked into it. You are on the right path with the sensor and wiring. If you don't have the A440F service manual let me know and I can give you a dropbox link.
Toyota doesn't use NPT they us BSPT (british standard pipe thread). the line coming out the the radiator at the bottom is:

Late to the game here, I used round U bolts for my SOA build. I am trying to figure out why square u bolts are being used. Do they match the kit you welded in? My ruff stuff kit used round u bolts.

I did the write up about the $17 replacement solenoid I stole off the 3FE yahoo group years ago :)When the 4WD VSV fails it locks the 4 Hi position and the front driveshaft is locked. People would get around this by swapping the vacuum lines on the VSV solenoids.
