New to me 1985 FJ60 project!

If you aren't going above 33" tires I think rebuilt rear drums would suit you better. They work well when rebuilt. I was amazed at the difference when I rebuilt mine old wagon on 35's.

    RMP&O's 1984 FJ60, v8, lockers and more!

One of my favorite wagons. Would love to build on like this one day. I've been without my silver wagon for 4 years and miss that pile of crap all the time.

    Introducing myself and my fj60

Think maybe you ought to re-route the brake hard line from the bottom of the axle housing? Nice rig, you don't see many black wagons.

    DIY Mangler Sliders

I had sliders welded to the body like what is shown above when I had my 60. I wheeled the snot out of it and they never moved. I would do it again.

    zuk mod for the 60?

I've had Jeep TJ Springs in the back of my 4 runner for 3 years or so. I've never had an issue. No big deal. But a wagon is not going to have anything to put the coil springs on to. Not stock anyway.

    Engine compression

Number looks pretty fair for a 22+ year old vehicle at altitude.

So no offense, and this is just my opinion, but get rid of those wheels.

I think silver is the best ever color on an FJ60. I had a silver 85 that was silver / rust...

Yup, I've done a knuckle job before. Depending on when I would be happy to help.

    Milo's FJ60 Resto / Refresher / Desmog / build -- (lots of pics)

Let me know if/when you plan to install it. I'll be happy to help. It takes a little bit of head scratching the 1st time, but it's super easy to install. I haven't been to a meeting in a while. I've got class on Tuesday nights now typically. I haven't done much wheeling in a while either...

aussie lockers are lots of bang for the buck. You will know it is there that is for sure. I have lived with an aussie locker in my DD for the past 8 years or so. I would not put one in the front if I were you though. It will be tough driving on the road in 4wd in the winter. You are better...

    Car carrier vs Tow Dolly

I towed my wagon 1000 miles a day on a dolly. The wagon had 35's so I swapped the fronts with some junk tires I got from a friend. I had no issues even at 70 mph. I towed it behind a 32' Penske.

Anyone running a good cruise control?

I had one of my old wagon. I believe it was an audiovox unit. I did not install it, it was on when I bought it. it was however one of the few things that worked on my wagon. I loved it. Sorry, no real info.

a couple fj60's on Colorado Springs craigslist

I'm on the westside and I've never seen the gray one. That white one has been on C/L for some time now, keeps going down in price. I believe he started at $1k.

    Need honest rust opinion

Check the inside of the frame around the area of the rear spring hanger. Not the shackle end but the fixed end.

    2F carb: high-altitude jets?

You should not need to re-jet your carb. If the HAC system is complete and operational it should do all the work.

fan shaft can wiggle w/ my hand

That would be a fair assumption. You don't want your water pump to sieze.
