"I'm a :banana:mechanic and I have a :banana::banana::banana: Land Cruiser. I can send it down the road or I can "SEND IT!"
Mechanic-ing isn't for everyone, and I'll be the first to say I did NOT see this coming. Way to grab life where it counts and make a choice! Whatever you...
If you're swapping the engine your exhaust manifold leak, vacuum leaks, and potentially carb rebuild/sniper install will be taken care of. All these things are related to your engine swap and engine choices. I suck at carburetors so if it were me I would go with a fuel-injected option when I do...
This is why you bought this rig and why you joined this forum. Don't take it back to the mechanic unless you have money to just swirl away down the toilet. You can do this with help from this group. This kind of project is exactly what you need to take you from 1  to :banana:.

I've been shot at, got buckshot in the tailgate to prove it. Just for being on a road that was too close to a claim i didn't know about. So, yeah. There are crazy people in the desert. I'll stand by that.
Got mine today. I pressed 1 to talk to a representative to see if they would renew the warranty on my '92 LC, but for some reason they just hung up. 🤷♂️
Edit: D@mn. MoaByte beat me to it.
What the H*** route are you taking to get to Idaho in a truck that none of us trusts?? Be careful making "wrong turns" out there! There are miners and ranchers that won't welcome you. They'll throw your lifeless body down a shaft and not look back, just to avoid the hassle. This is the part of...
I think I know that gas station! You're only a couple hours from civilization! If @cruiseroutfit can't get you in to look at things, I've got a guy in Woods Cross that can probably take care of you.
You can replace a thermostat in the autozone parking lot with borrowed tools. Will you at least replace your rotted hoses, the t-stat, and purge the air from the system? You're stressing me out here.
Ok, at least get something to tell you the coolant temp. You can't recover from an overheated engine without replacing the engine. A cap with a gauge in the top, an ir temp sensor, something!
Yup. I'd spend that money getting it home where you can diagnose and fix one thing at a time. With the help of this forum you can tackle most of this successfully. Adjusting your idle, replacing your hoses and thermostat, and getting your gauges working properly are the first things I think you...
I wouldn't drive a 30 year old vehicle with unknown mechanical issues, making noises, feeling hot, and no temp gauge and no oil gauge anywhere I didn't want to walk home from.
Edit for clarity: Let alone across a deadly desert where the nearest service is over 100 miles away and there are areas...
@Beehanger , I recognize you're new here, but you're going to have to learn.
We. Want. Pictures.
We want a build thread.
We want to see pics of the beast in the wild.
Get on it, brother.
