The steering on my HJ61 has gotten really bad, but with too many projects and way too little time, I just don't have the time to do what I would like: do a real frame-of...
Is there any way of diagnosing wether it's the pump or box that is failing?
Right around middle it feels ok, as in not...
There's a small screw (10mm head) on the side of the MC. People mistakenly loosen it to bleed the master. The screw is the pin locating the forward piston. If unscrewed it is very easy to damage the seals in the MC, that might be your problem.
Thanks!
I did put a new master in, but original.
The brakes are perfectly driveable and just passed the official inspection, but I'm not totally satisfied, the feel is not perfect, but there's still some old components in the system and it might be a good idea the bleed it again.
All in all I...
Exept the engine, most parts are just like the FJ62, but 5-10 years ago you would be asking for trouble, parts for the 12H-t would be Toyota only, really expensive, if obtainable. For some years new pistons where unsourceable, but today you can order a complete engine rebuild kit for less than...
No, I have no data from Toyota, I doubt it would be possible to get at all, but if you read the thread there are posts stating the temperature real galvanizing takes place at, real world examples of bent frames and the fact that the OP and I live in the same country where it is more than likely...
Here in Denmark we used to have a lot of 60's, they're almost all gone now, either rusted up, driven to death in gravel pits or exported, a shame really...
But the ones we got were all HJ60's except a few HJ61's in 1987, btw. The last year for the 60's here due to taxation changes.
They where...
You can do the math yourself, length of spring, increase in shackle length, simple arithmetic to get change in angle and then back to spec. It depends on how much you change...
Regarding a 4" body lift, the modifications needed are many, possible change in servo pipes, brake lines, air intake...
Lifted springs won't help you fit bigger tires offroad, unless you put either a body lift or longer bump stops on.
I have a 50mm body lift (approx. 2") and 35X12.5R15 fits fine, no rubbing, but larger than that needs a regear.
I have a set of Michelin XZL 11R16 on my volvo 6X6, they weigh 43kgs...
