Take a look at the vehicles and look for shiny new parts on them. Service history is important, but not always documented. Me and the guys I work with (in a dealership) don't write up an RO everytime we work on our own cars, so our service history probably looks horrible, but we do have a stack...
Don't even mess with turning the wheel, just undo the 2 bolts holding the bracket for the tie rod onto the knuckle ( I believe they are 19mm). Don't disconnect the tie rod, or undo the adjusting nut, this way once you get your axle back in, you reconnect the upper ball joint and those 2 bolts...
Another thing you have to consider is you're going to have a lot of weight far behind the rear axle and that is very different than loading the back cargo area due to the leverage. I carried my son's dirt bike all the time on a hitch carrier without issue, but when I put mine one there ( Honda...
There are over 10 keys and you need the number engraved on it to get the correct replacement. Easiest thing to do is go to a dealer, they should have a master set and can take them off for you, and then replace the wheel locks with a fifth splined lug nut
I've had the same issue with the marker/turn signals and found that the 84-89 Toyota pickup turn signals are almost the exact same size. I've had them in my truck for a few years now and with the exception of 1 burned out bulb, they have been flawless. When I changed the bulb, everything was...
I'd check the rear sway bar links, specifically where the link is bolted to the sway bar. These trucks have a weird almost plastic bushing in there that will fall apart and make noise.
To be honest, I didn't like the dissent rack when I first saw it and was shopping for a roof rack, but after seeing one in person, and seeing pics of the newer version, I think cosmetically it's the best looking rack on a 100 series. If I were buying today, I'd be debating between the same racks...
This sounds like the best idea... Until you pull into the gas station. I cringe thinking about fueling 1 100 for a long trip, imagine doubling it?
In all seriousness, splitting up the family into 2 vehicle on a family trip would take away a lot of bonding time. Towing a trailer off-road sucks...
Sounds like the OP doesn't want to keep the truck. If you don't see yourself keeping it long term, I'd cut my loses now instead of throwing alot more money at it.
Have you considered parting it out? I see well over $12k in armor/lights/suspension/wheels bolted to that truck just from the...
If fumes are present all the time, and especially when the tank is full, I would start by checking out the filler neck/ fuel tank. If the fumes are only present after running the truck, but go away when it's off, then start with the canister. Chances are, there's a leak somewhere on top of the...
Do you have an older truck? Looks like the camera only came on 04-07.
That would work. Also now would be the time to upgrade if the OP wanted a better camera
I believe the only difference is gps equipped lc's came with a backup camera and non gps didn't. So the only difference is if it has the hole for the camera on the bottom side. Either one will physically fit, and if you got one for a non gps vehicle, you can just drill a hole for your camera.
Are you talking about the the plate that goes on after the tire, so that you can lock it to the carrier? I have one of those if you want it.
I never used it, I run a receiver in the middle of the spare wheel to hold a high lift.
Welcome aboard, I'm also from NJ and have spotted that truck in the past in the Pomton/rt 23 area. It was an easy spot as it's the same color, same wheels as mine, almost twins. If you need any help with checking off items on that to-do list, feel free to reach out, I'm in Bergen county.
I've...
Looks to me that this thing lived in a salty place, but the previous owner(s) did their best to slow down the rust process. It's going to be a bear to work on that undercarriage, but so long as the paint and interior is decent, and it doesn't have a ton of deferred maintenance, it could be a...
Interesting. I learned something new today. I've seen more than my fair share of 100 series and have yet to see a cargo cover in the flesh.
Also surprised this was never in the LX470 as they have a lot of add-ons over the land cruisers.
North American trucks didn't get this option. We don't have the "dimples" on the interior quarter panel trims that it goes into because we all got 3rd row seats. Only factory 5 seaters got this. Drawers are a great option, but a permanent solution. If you need your entire cargo area often, just...
