I was out trying to have fun and not do too much damage while going around with my brother and his friends with their toys. The Jeeps came in on trailers because they play hard. I knew what I was in for.
Hi incudie,
Have you seen any evidence to corroborate your temp gauge in the cluster? On my MR2 the 'temp. sender' sensor went bad which gave false information on the water temperature gauge.
Also, now that my '99 is over twenty years old, I'm starting to wonder if it's about time to...
I finished the cables/tubes/gasket swap and now my sunroof works perfectly. A couple comments:
While clearing them with trimmer line will address debris, I think the bigger issue is that the tube walls are too thin (and old?) which makes it easy for them to collapse where they bend or meet...
dbfw, thank you! I followed your very helpful writeup (found here). True what you mentioned about getting the pressure on the correct spot. I thought that by hammering / yanking on the mounting holes I was doing something. Nope.
When trying to align the marks it took a minute for me to...
Two years and two months later I'm finally getting this done.
The cassette is on the living room floor and I just can't seem to slide the drive cable assemblies back. They are so stuck that it's as if there is a set-screw I haven't removed. I've cut off the tube and cable an inch away from...
I commute three miles one way, so 30 miles of that per week. It gets plenty dirty though, just not the fun kind. The family hauler kind. But I did get it on some forest trails this year. That's a start.
3x locked w/ ARB on both. I wanted to get rid of the 2-pinion weakness on my '99 and since I was putting a rear one in, why not the front too? I wanted the overkill to make up for my lack of skill.
I haven't used it much but it's my DD at the moment and I generally assuage my need for actually...
Thanks for the reply Ayune.
I'm going to fix it. I didn't use it much before but I will now! I did the same job on my first car, a hand-me-down Lexus ES250. The cables had broken completely so I could just slide it back by hand. Super ghetto! It wasn't a hard job but it was a much smaller...
How's it coming, Vista? From reading other threads, it seems like compressed air is the winning method for clearing the sunroof drain pipes.
I just had an emergency. Water spilling on my head. On my left foot. Drivers side front carpet soaked. The sunroof wont budge so I'm pretty sure it's...
Hey guys,
I'm in the area and I'd love to get out on a trail. Though I don't FB much, I just joined the Seattle Cruiserheads group. It seems more like an 80 series and older type of thing but I might go anyway just to say hi. I doubt I'll make NWOR but depending on work I would like to go.
I...
See sig (b/c I don't know the size off the top of my head). These work great with no rubbing (before and after my 1.5" lift) and a nice "TRD" style, +1, happy medium.
Cheers,
Phat-
Hey guys,
I just put my Oregon plates on after removing the French ones. Woohoo! I can confirm the information I found in two other threads that the size is an M6-1.0 machine screw. I used a 12 mm length on the rear which was perfect (along with a washer on each) and an 18 mm in the front...
Thanks for the inspiring report. Now that I'm back in the states I can't wait to get out. I'm in Oregon but when I head out to CO I'll take a look at your notes. Some great shots in there btw. What did you shoot with?
Is the common understanding to do the front and rear equally? I thought it was more for the front because the hubs come towards the center (think front diff) of the truck due to the geometry of IFS combined with a lift. A lift at the rear wouldn't do that. Thoughts are welcome.
