Glad you found the information useful. I haven't be on Mud much since the pandemic started. I've only managed to get a few thing out of the way. I guess I'll update this thread with a post of my tire carrier rebuild using the kit available at: City Racer's store: City Racer LLC -...
I have the 3B compressor bracket & pulley tensioner. I’d be willing to get it reproduced but I’m worried I’d out the production costs and a pile of reproductions parts.
Any thoughts on getting it digitally scanned? Would it be feasible to have the digital model available for 3D sintered parts?
Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want to modify the cast 2F engine mount/compressor bracket by fabricating and welding something to it?
Why not use/improve the design you were initially inquiring about?
I’m sure you can sell that engine mount to someone wanting to install AC in...
Have you read this thread @heilanpiper ? The drawing & answer to your question is posted already by the person you’re quoting. Look for the most recent post from the mud member you’ve quoted.
Do you have a bench lathe? Maybe you can salvage what you have. Mill out the leftover plastic to match the diameter of some brass round bar. Make a mini, brass two-port manifold to epoxy in-place. Bore the round bar, drill & tap for two brass barbs.
Plenty of rebuild kits available. I’m upgrading the thrust washer/bearing from 270 to a 360 degree alternative. The big thing to check for is back and forth play in the compressor wheel. Worn bearings will allow the compressor wheels to touch the housings.
I agree... the Chinese stuff is junk 50% of the time. Quality control is a disaster. Things that would easily fail a visual inspection are not even blinked at.
I bookmarked the site as a potential resource when I found it several years ago; however, I've never purchased from Tojo 4WD Center.
I'm hoping to retain my EDIC setup myself. I will have a 24 volt controller available, but I'm still in the process of converting to 12 volt using Australian...
Glad you’re up and running again. Your toasted turbo has me wondering a couple things. The side to side play is normally the result of a worn thrust bearing and it‘s something that gradually gets louder as the bearing wears thin. Was the fried turbo new or possibly a rebuilt turbo? The...
Do you think it’s worth opening up the EDIC controller box to see if any of the solder joints failed? I’ve saved a few vintage Toyota radios that way. A couple of them had the same failed solder joint at the harness connector and circuit board.
I purchased an AXT’d 3B for cheap. Sold the H55F it came with to basically get the setup for a couple $100 plus a spare 3B. It was local, so there wasn’t any shipping costs.
I‘d been searching for specifics about the AXT kit. There’s markings on the turbo in three places: the exhaust...
A few people swear this by this brand... so I posted it up as an alternative. I have an OEM exhaust manifold gasket, but I may try this for the hell of it when I install an ATX turbo.
