Sure did, plastic oil pan and all.
Honestly all of my complaints stem from the harmonics of the engine. 4 cylinder diesels vibrate a lot. If I could figure out some better motor mounts to put in it to smooth it up I would stop complaining.
The engine itself has given me no issues, runs fine...
It's nice to get a new engine that has a direct parts line right here in the USA.
However, it is a 4 cyl diesel w/o balance shafts so it has bad harmonics.
Knowing what I know now I would have skipped this engine.
Looking good. Those IFS diffs do make engine swaps hard don't they! I am almost done with my oil pan, its in the 80 series section.
Keep up the good work!
The toyota land cruiser has got to be one of the most dependable vehicles on the planet. Slow and steady and your sure to get to your destination.
The 3B is a unique engine, from my research it actually has liners, something not uasually found in engines of this size. Try a very efficient...
very impressive, I sware the yellow one has the oil pressure gauge at zero, I think its in the units of bar. I would assume, since its metric, no psi there.
simply kick ass cruisers!
astr,
would be great to stop by and check out this swap you got going. I'm currently in school at GMI in flint, but home on most weekends to get away from the partying and do H.W.
I almost feel like a land cruiser poser on this board, my LC dosent even have insurance on it, I havent had the...
intresting discussion. I have only see one area of turbo exhaust systems that anyone put much thought into. At work (detroit diesel) we use a conical shaped turbine outlet. Its somewhere in the 12-15 degree range off the center axis of rotation. I could not tell you why this helps, but some PhD...
have people found ways around this. Weather if be swapping VIN plates from a junker LC or falsifying that they own a mining company?
But why dont the mines use ford F-150's???
Is the LC that much better?
I think I know what your talking about here. For example, take a rusty control arm bolt, you heat the nut and get it off, but you still cannot remove the bolt. In those stupid rubber busings there are metal sleves, those get rust welded to the bolt, makes for a real pain in the ass.
Can the...
I know how hard it is to work in the engine bay, with fuels and meltable things around. You can never get a good swing at things. Is it possible to remove the ALT bracket and get it on the work bench?
I have to second mr. hanson, I havent encountered too many things that wont come apart when...
