On Sunday I will be looking at a 1984 M1010 with 12,000 original miles, garaged most of its life post military. He says it drives and runs great, well enough to drive it the 400 miles to my home from his. It has no rust, new batteries, has been regeared with 3.73 gears (possibly no Detroit...

Anyone know if there is a way to make this work in my setup???
NV4500 main shaft w/ AA
I think it goes to a minitruck t-case, but not really knowledgeable enough to know for sure. My friends shop should be open in a couple weeks or so, and I have the bellhousing. Almost ready to get...
I am looking into using the Deka AGM batteries in my diesel swap. They were used in a solo winter expedition to the arctic circle by Expeditions West I read about in Overland Journal.(IIRC down to -50 degrees farenheit cold start.)
I have heard from a number of people theat they are higher...
I think as long a s you run a pyrometer you can safely start opening
up the intake and exhaust for more power. Without one you run the risk of damaging your engine if you drive it too hard. X2 on turboing it. I hope to turbo on my gm6.2 when I install it, depends on cashflow... it might have...
here's a real jump... YouTube - jumping humvees in iraq
i don't know why you are so bent out of shape that we want to use the 6.2/6.5... we're not making you ride with us, so what gives?????

x2 on going to the quick shop. that's jsut not professional, and borderline extortion in my book. but ia am kinda crazy about my truck... you will learn to love the clackity diesel noise, at least I did with the wifey's
kcustom73... just bring only the amount of cash you wanna pay, and if he...
rusty, i've been following your thread. i would love to hear some audio of your truck running with the exhaust... what type muffler did you use and what diameter pipe?
I,ve got my nv4500 sitting in the back of my cruiser. i like to look at it and pretend i can drive my truck.:grinpimp:
i wish i was almost done buying parts. i have a fairly extensive list of parts to get still, but the most expensive are almost done. the Advanced adapters t-case is the last...
what size exhaust and type of muffler are you guys using?
I am thinking of going from stock manifolds to 3" single pipe... was looking online and saw that stock gm used dual 2 1/2 with restrictive muffler.
not sure what would be best. Seems like the sinlge 3" would be easier to route under...
Does anyone know if high compression diesels are less suited to adding a turbo?
a mechanic once said that in regards to the 6.2L gm diesel with 21.5:1 compression. (the turbo 6.5L only has 18:1 comp.)
if so, why?
