So finally got the radiator in and system flushed. It took about a week to complete. My process was as follows...
1) I drained the block/radiatior and filled with distilled water and prestone flush/cleaner. I drove around for a day with the heater off and switched to cold air so that I could...
Hey guys thanks for the pointers on where to check for leaks. I'll be out with the garden hose soon to try to track it down. I know for sure I have to reseal the drip rail because one spot was dripping on my arm/door.
As for the gauges I found this post and it gave me some ideas but still not...
Yeah hojo, the radiator was way worse than I thought. I'm pretty sure the heater cores look the same. I've done about 10 forward/reverse flushes withe garden hose and I'm still getting a little bit of crap coming out. At this point I'm going to add a cleaning agent and flush a couple more times...
That makes sense. I had also found one under my driver seat as well, maybe it was for heated seats.
I have another question. When removing the crossover pipes for the air intake, do I have to replace the gasket where it meets at the glow screen?
Was just wondering cause I want to clean...
I will definitely go pre-turbo with the probe.
Yes, the radiator shop said it was one of the worst block he has seen in a very long time!
All my coolant hoses had that crap on them too, up to a 1/4 inch think on the upper rad hose. After a couple days in a mild vinegar bath I was able to...
Ever since own my HJ61 I've had cooling issues. Actually on day one of ownership while sitting in rush hour traffic and the way to my wedding (it was going to be my get away car), it overheated to the point of boiling out of the reservoir because I wasn't paying attention to the gauge.
It has...

Left side treated/right side untouched
This stuff is great. If you have nothing to do all weekend and want a simple project this one is worth it. I essentially got all new glass for 15$
So a little update as it has been long overdue. I managed to reseal around the air intake for the a/c and down both seams that are behind the fenders.
Also resealed the drip rail as I was getting a water leak down both a pillars and from the top of the door and dripping on my arm, I used fusor...
Thanks for the info everyone, that's exactly what I was looking for! Also thank you DanS HJ-45 for the link, I must have missed the all-in-one for the egt kit.
Both boost and egt gauges are order!
Hey cruisers, I may be over thinking it but here's my question. Im close to buying Isspro pre-turbo egt gauge R3607TR from egauges.com, but which thermocouple and lead wire should I buy? Sorry if this elementary but I've never bought/installed gauges before and I want to make sure I get ALL the...
Wow, I completely forgot you posted pictures :hillbilly: thanks for the reply. You need to figure out how to get the video up so we can hear that jet engine!
So it was cheaper on their website compared to their eBay store?
How was the new pipe connected to the factory dump? Just wondering cause a buddy of mine is going to fabricate a 3" for me in a few weeks...I'll probably end getting a 3" dump later this year
Hey everyone I got a question. I just removed the wiper motor and left side fender because I'm getting a small leak that runs down, behind the plastic kick panel. I was wondering what seam I need to reseal. Is this correct? Just to the left of the sunroof drain
I also plan on resealing...
Thanks Oldtoy I plan on making this a pretty solid bus. My progress is slow, but it's progress :). I replaces the hood adjusters and got the screws for the pto winch handle. Now the handle doesn't spin and raddle when driving.
