You have 2 terminal types on your relay for the load - 87 is Normally Open (NO) and 87a Normally Closed (NC). Sometimes there's a schematic on the relay.
You want fused +12V current to flow into "30" and out "87a" through the alarm to ground. (This is the load.)
You want +12V to flow from the...
The longer I own my 1st gen, the more I believe I'll own it forever. I'd love to hear what you think about the quality after you get it installed and use it for awhile. They look good on the website (big surprise). Thanks for sticking your neck out on our behalf. I know you did it for the good...
I can't get my head around this one. I've never had a problem going in a straight line on pavement with any my 4x4s, as long as the tires are all the same. And as expected, lots of binding on turns.
How does a TC allow over/under run? Just curious is all.

So the rest of you hosers stay the hell out of this thread. You don't own a Softopper so piss off. Your ideas don't mean bugger all. :D
Oh gee, I replied too and I don't own a Softopper. Sorry . . .
I put a set of 2" Downey springs on my '86. Leveled it right out, but is settling some now after about 2 years. I plan to extend the shackles an inch or so to make up for it. Hopefully the Downey's will stop "settling" at some point. They ride fine and were cheap. I knew about the sag issue...
You're going to pull the fan, water pump, and timing chain cover before you determine if it's even getting spark and fuel?
It could be a fuel delivery problem. Plenty of other fuel components besides the filter.
Maybe there's no spark since you noticed sensors seemingly not...
Thanks! Since it happens so infrequently I'm hoping I can ignore it. I also figured a heated O2 sensor would solve it, but maybe that's wrong. I hesitate to replace the ECU - the truck runs real well like it is.
I've had the LCE 4-1 for about 2 years now. I noticed a small power increase above about 2000 rpm. Not sure about changes to low end torque except that I wheeled it the first summer and didn't have problems - seemed to lug down fine.
- I had to modify my existing exhaust pipe since the header...
I've also seen Radio Shack relays soldered into the stock board, but they're too big to fit inside the stock cover. Your guys' solutions are both way cooler than that. :D Thanks.
You married? Go ask the wife what she needs done. Rake some leaves. Patch the gutter. Paint the garden shed. Rehang the soap dispenser. All great endeavors with so much more challenge and satisfaction than rebuilding an engine.
Don't be such a pissant, you loser. Stop whining and think about...
Water doesn't lubricate so it's possible the main and rod bearings are scored, depending on how long he kept driving it after the "leak".
The labor to remove and replace the head isn't too bad. There's a few bucks in machine work, valves, seats, etc. And if it's cracked you'll need a donor...
'86 4runner, stock bumpers, tires measure 28" tall, 2" Downey springs in rear, stock front suspension, truck sits pretty much level:
from ground to bottom of front bumper = 24"
from ground to bottom of rear bumper = 20-21"
HTH
Seems like the backspacing on my 1st generation 4runner wheels is 4 3/4". Those are later year used wheels I bought from a wheel/trailer parts shop in town. They fit fine.
FJ40 backspacing is limited to about 3 1/2". Not sure about the FJ60, but if it's the same as the 40 you're SOL unless...
