    Builds Project Bob

There's a guy on ebay selling them as well. Looking good. I like the frenched rear leaf mounts. I'm headed that direction to try and get the height down and the rust out. Chris

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

I used a Haynes manual. I'm a little worried about the clearance on the 3-4 foward clutches... I think they may be a little loose. But how would adding Lucas... even if it's "snake oil" mess this thing up? I drove to work and put it in and work and on the drive home third gear was gone. I...

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

Thanks for the help so far... one more thing to sort out so I can get it to an exhaust shop and inspected. Kind of a cross post from the 60 series section but I'm not getting much help there. I put lucas tranny fix in and 3rd gear dissappeared. It'll shift into 3rd gear just not enguage...

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

The slipping continues to get worse :crybaby: bummer and I'm worried that I'll get to the trail and not being able to get the power to the wheels would suck. Is there a way to pull the pump out of this tranny with out removing the valve body? I don't wanna do that part again. Thanks Chris

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

I'm running the corvette servo right now and it shifts great. It's just not holding which is why I suspected the 2-4 band. It the T.V. cable the only thing that controls how hard the band or clutches are holding? I have too much other stuff to finish up this week to really fool with this...

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

Haha, thanks for the advice... that makes enough sense to give it a shot. I think when I do that I'll stick some lucus in and see what happens then. Chris

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

What would cause you to suggest flushing and refilling? The fluid is basically all new since it was purged out... right? It seems to pull well in 4th gear though, I had it out last night driving around. (sorry for the newbish question)

    Driveway carnage... 700R4 help

Not sure this is hardcore but I thought I'd find the highest concentration of Chevy parts here. 1988 700R4 worked well for maybe 100 shakedown miles. I did not replace the clutches or the bands as the tranny shop that was lookin over my shoulder said they all looked ok and my budget was...

    Budget build 700R4 and cooling

Rebuilding the 700R to the cruiser might as well build it a little while I'm in there. 1. What stall rating do I want on the torque converter? Can or should I just keep the one that's in there if it was working fine? 2. Can I install a temp sensor somewhere (thinking with the remote...

    4-link in the rear of a 60?

:flipoff2: The part that's in trouble is the part that the 1/4 eliptical springs would replace. I saw that you finally did some work on your truck before trying to burst my bubble. :flipoff2: Looking like I outta just spring it over and leave well enough alone for right now.. espically since...

    4-link in the rear of a 60?

Would you be able to build a leaf pack strong enough to support a loaded 60 though? My fab skills will be on par when the project starts... right now researching. Bought the recomended books and have been reading. Chris

    4-link in the rear of a 60?

Considering putting a 4-link in the rear of my 60. Is a 1/4 eliptical a viable option? I'm seeing Woody running F-350 springs in the rear of his 40... so I guessing that's not a good idea in a loaded 60? Goal is to create a suspension with better street manners, approximately 4" lift over...
