I just picked one up directly from my local Toyota dealer. Mine is clearly stamped Bando, but I believe that they have used other manufacturers over the years too.
Still in the process of baselining my 2008 that I picked up last year. Finally had my detailer put a ceramic coat on it. Not cheap, but it really made the Amazon Green color pop.
Changed all of the rotors and brake pads with OEM that I picked up last year during one of the great online sales...
Both of my mirrors on my 2008 were wobbling quite a bit. It is very annoying once you notice it. I ordered kits for both mirrors and installed the new screws today, which totally fixed the problem.
As others have mentioned, the covers are very difficult to get off. The directions on this thread...
I have done the Rubicon several times in my built, triple-locked 1995 Grand Cherokee. It is very rocky and tight in quite a few places. Sliders for a 200 would be a must and I would still expect some body damage
Carry lots of spares because either you or someone in your group will probably...
Well, not everything was done this last week, but here is what I have done to my "new to me" 2008 Amazon Green Land Cruiser since I picked it up a few months ago. I bought the truck from a fellow MUD member, but it is still amazing how many little things need to be done once you start looking...
Thanks - yours show the exact same plastic protrusions that I had seen on others. I now I need to locate the sound dampening material if I want to get mine back to 100%. I kid. LOL 😂
My "new to me" 2008 LC was missing the cover to the oil drain plug. I purchased part #51456-60070 along with the two fastening bolts and was wondering what the two interior holes are for on the raised circular areas. In some picks that I have seen, it looks like some sort of plastic grommet...
I also want to switch out my stock oil filter housing to the Toyota metal version part number 16520-31060. Here is a comparison of the two. Obviously, the perforated metal sleeve is much shorter on the metal one. Will I need to switch out the perforated metal sleeve between them? Just want to...
A couple of the original shocks on my new to me 2008 LC are leaking, so I am considering replacing all four shocks with Toyota OEM. If nothing else is done, is an alignment needed?
I have a new to me 2008 Land Cruiser with 145K miles, so I just spent a couple of hours going through this thread to get myself familiar with the eventual radiator swap.
When I go onto the Olathe Toyota internet parts website, they say that the right radiator for my 2008 is part number...
FWIW, I placed one order from Serra Toyota In Decatur and one from Village in FL. My Village order shipped immediately and I received it here on the West Coast within a week. Nothing has shipped yet from Serra, but I did get their email explaining that they were running behind.
FWIW, the manual for my 2008 states that the tank is 25.4 gallons.
I usually fill up when it gets close to "0" and it generally takes between 19 and 20 gallons.
