Removing an Inboard Clutch on a STIHL Chain Saw

Is there anything particularly evil about this piston stop?

    Chainsaw sharpener

Yup same here. Cutters and rakers all free hand. THIS is the best file I've used. Every now and then I'll throw them on my wheel grinder (a nicer one) to redo the angles precisely or for just a quick edge in the middle of a job.

    Stihl Chainsaw not oiling?

Do not run something like kerosene through it, that could damage the oil pump. Did you perform all the things listed above? Like cleaning the bar, checking the oil pump, and turning up the oil? A few ways to know if it's oiling enough. Place the tip of the bar close to pavement or a piece of...

    Echo Chainsaw

 tourist......  You probably stayed in Nipinnawasee. There is several B & B's out there. As far as the restaurant you probably ate at the Velvet Rose. That is the only one with Armenian background that I know of, and I'm Armenian as well. They are out of business now.

    husqvarna 266se, grease?

Yep. There is a small hole on the end of the bar. Grease it till it's spilling out the bar grooves.

    Echo SRM-210i

Yes it does sound like a deal to me. The weeds I have to cut where I live are aweful---tall, thick, etc. That's why I like to use larger machines. More power=less wear on equipment=longer lasting machine. Nice cause they work just fine for small nice jobs too!

    Echo SRM-210i

That is a good warranty. I would stay away from anything less then 25cc's though. I use Tanaka weedwackers myself. They are really nice and you would definitely spend more then $250.

    Trimmer accessories

They make the rpm's on my machines go crazy. I stick with twine, usually really heavy stuff.

    Timing light

I really like this unit. You really get a nice product for the price. The RPM function is really nice. The instructions that came with the light are very poor, but once you know the basics it's very easy to use. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile timing light.

    Stihl Chainsaw not oiling?

Yep. Take the spark plug out and cram something clean (I use starter cord, easy to get back out) into the combustion chamber to limit the pistons motion so you can take the clutch off. I also clean the oil passages out all the way to the tank. As mentioned above be sure and clean out the holes...

    Timing light

What is total advance? Let me get this straight, I have a line on the flywheel for TDC, and then a 7 degree BTDC marker. So I set the desired advance on the gun then line it up to the TDC mark or the 7 degree mark?

    Timing light

I purchased this timing light yesterday, should be here shortly. Tool warehouse had a great price on it compared with summit and jegs. I hope it will also be able to read and set advance. Has anyone owned or used one like this?

Might be a good time to get your own 46 mm socket for the crank pulley nut for FJ60's and FJ40's etc. Also 1 13/16 in. standard socket fits as well. On sale now at Northern Tool for $6! Last one I bought it was somewheres around $40. Item number is 558712-1813, no affiliation, just thought...
