    Radio Installed

I did myself a huge favor by mounting the radio under the seat, so I have to loosen the seat to be able to reach the antenna cable and back of the radio. I had to look at the needles a couple of times to make sure I was seeing it right. We'll see if it really works that well, it wasn't...

    Radio Installed

I apologize sir, won't let it happen again.;p As far as showing you how to use it, I just plugged it in, keyed the mike, watched the needles move, adjusted the antenna, watched the needles move more, trimmed a little off of the bottom of the antenna and watched the needles move. I'm just...

I used Rusty's SWR meter last night and got the antenna tuned to 1:1, so we will see if that improves the performance. Jack

It is all washed out now, plus with the influx of buggies heading that way to run upper Bronco/candyland, it has gotten very rough. Just ask the Dans about the mud hole that used to...

    Radio Installed

Thanks. I used a NMO mount with a tab off of my upright for the mount and a Comet SBB-5 antenna. I don't have an SWR meter, so until I can check it I don't know. I thought maybe I would see how it performs tonight before or after the meeting. Speaking of which, is anyone going to be on...

    Radio Installed

First one is of the antenna. Second is different angle, the main portion of the antenna is protected by the Hi-lift, I know that I lost a bit of ground plane, but I figured that it was worth the protection. Third one is of the antenna folded over, gargage or heavy brush mode. Jack

    Radio Installed

Well, I finally got my 2m radio installed over the weekend. Now I just have to figure out use the damn thing.:D I spent a few minutes reading the manual, but it made my head hurt, so I will talking on simplex type stuff for a while. I tried to set the +offset for the Bronco Canyon run and it...
