    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

If I bought an engine remanufactured I wouldn't tear it down and rebuilt it again. The point of paying for a reman one is that someone else has done the tear down and refresh and everything should be in working order. Might they have used cheaper parts that don't last as long? Sure but that's...

    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

The 3UR is designed to be rebuilt 3 times. I think first time is a light honing, second time is boring 0.010 over, second time is slightly larger boring, but don't quote me on the specifics. I'll have to find that article, but if the shop is highly rated I wouldn't have an issue with a reman...

Different thread where a truck was totalled when a wheel came off. Truck went to auction but will probably net 25k+. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/vibration-squeak-thumping-not-a-good-outcome-wheel-fell-off.1332824/post-15368597 So yes I think you could get 15-20k with a blown motor if...

I believe so but it involves removing the spark plug and pressurizing the cylinder so the valve doesn't drop.

    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

Not that it makes you feel any better but it’s probably statistically insignificant. There have been 3UR valve spring failures but the number is small relative to the total number of engines. For every valve spring breaking or head gasket failure there’s the guy who has 520k on his motor and...

    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

That’s odd I would expect other codes with a plug like that. Sorry man. Your code is semi-generic, like I said you’ll get it for various reasons including low battery. This may be a more severe reason for it though. From the plug damage I’d bet on a broken valve spring (which the 3UR...

    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

The sensor will “fail” if the battery voltage is low. Even after you swap the battery the sensor in my limited experience won’t reset and determine the correct position until you start once, then it will stall, and then it’s correct. Pretty sure if you swap the battery and clear codes then...

    P0335…to a bent valve (update...and it's not good)

Guaranteed the battery is bad, if not from A bad cell then from being undercharged if it’s below 10.8V. Alternator might be bad too and if the battery is low could be the source of your issue, but swap the battery, fire it up and run it for a few minutes to ensure it’s charged, clear any codes...

Battery voltage? I’ve only had this code when I had a dead battery. Low battery voltage can also cause a click but no crank condition Any other codes?
