    Might've been a 3L 4 cyl turbo diesel (i.e. the 1KZ-TE engine) and not a 6. It was definitely a twin turbo diesel, but it was a few years ago that I drove it as a rental so my memory is a bit hazy.

    Anyone know how the turbo in the 3.0L V6 diesel in the Prado has held up? I drove one of those in Costa Rica. If the turbo (IIRC it's a twin turbo) in that has held up, I have no reason to believe they would have any issues with any other power plant.

    So many naysayers about a turbo 6. Until 1998 the LC was 6 cylinders (albeit an online 6). It's not like a mustang or Camaro where there's a V8 legacy. I have a buddy with the last gen F150 with the ecoboost twin turbo and I have to say I'm impressed by its ability to make power at all sorts...
