    Pulsing/droning vibration at highway speeds

Like I said a couple weeks back my rear DS was bad and the improvement was night and day. So much so that I now feel a little bit of vibration from my front DS haha. I am installing my part time spool soon so lest worried about that now.

There is definitely no risk in this, as worldwide there are many part-time IFS 100s. This is exactly how they work, but with an external locking hub as opposed to the drive flanges.

I'm sure they could take it off for you, but could save some money doing it yourself. I have a second car so I dropped mine and took them to my local driveshaft shop. Just call them and have them quote it out.

Getting new U joints pressed in is substantially cheaper than both of those driveshafts, IMO.

Rotation doesn't matter here, thats just backlash in the yoke. Use a pry bar on the u joints, even if there's play with a pry bar it can cause significant vibes. Next step would be CV's.

Get under the truck with a pry bar and check your rear u joints. I had the same problem and that was my fix. Could be 1,000 other things but lets start there. Mine were so bad I could move them by hand.

Ok so first of all I want that. I have dewalt cordless tools so I'm totally in for that. Is the vibration in your seat? Pedals? Steering wheel? Does it come and go with throttle input or is it always doing it in that speed range?

honestly you should be more afraid it’s your CVs at $500 a piece. You can drop your own prop shaft and have new U joints put in and a high speed balance for less than $100.

Yeah man, bump stop on DS. Destroyed my sway bar links on both sides, CV, LBJ, and my 35" cooper mud tires were contacing my fender alot....had to bend my fender out with a pry bar! The exit to hells revenge that takes you back to the highway outside the park entrance has a NASTY rock ledge...

    Pulsing/droning vibration at highway speeds

Moog U joints are like $10 on Rock Auto. I've heard people have luck with SKF which are in the $20ish range, each. I have a personal vendetta against moog. I bought their lower control arms and they failed catastrophically in Moab, UT at a very bad time (halfway thru Hell's Revenge). That...

What brand joints did you try? I wonder if any are better than others.

    Pulsing/droning vibration at highway speeds

Yeah you probably should've gotten a press, even just a ball joint press....would've made 90% of the things you described there 10x easier. Also when you install them it is ok to bind the yoke some, if you smack the yoke a couple times with a hammer it'll seat. Like I said I haven't done them on...

What was so hard about the U joint replacement? Mine are toast and I need to do them.
