   New alternator/New voltage regulator

   they do have moving parts inside , and do age and time wear and tear ...... you would not be wise to install a new alternator and Roll the TEq Dice on a 41 year old electrical part , that regulates the alternator voltage etc...... ask your self this question , then you have already answered...
